Yacht club lovers who have stayed at the poly??

If you are a lover of the Yacht club (or Beach club) and have stayed at the Poly, what did you think? Did you like it? did you miss the Y and B Clubs?
did it seem dark to you?

We are torn between these two resorts and we LOVE the Yacht club. The ONLY reason we would stay at the Poly is because of our little one who will be with us and it may be easier to be on the monorail.

We have stayed at both multiple times. Each resort has its own charms to recommend it.

Yes, the rooms are darker at the Polynesian than YC. They are also much bigger. You have a choice of the Monorail or the boat when going to the MK. You can watch Wishes and the Electrical Water Pageant from the beach at the Polynesian. The pool has music playing underwater.

How old is your child? If they are old enough to appreciate the differences, I say go for it. If not, you might want to keep staying at YC and wait to try the Poly when they are older.

My kids have always liked the Poly more for the reasons I listed above, but they still like the YC.

Our daughter will only be two so the resort will be for us. She really won't care one way or the other yet.
We are just struggling with where to stay since we love the YC so much but really like the idea of the monorail since we will be in MK quite a bit. We plan on staying five nights and doing MK every morning. Then going to Epcot or MGM after our afternoon break. At least that what we are planning at this point.

We loved staying at the Poly when our kids were younger, incredibly convenient.
We just returned from a trip to Beach Club, and I still long for the Poly......there's nothing quite like it in all of WDW

I love both of these resorts. If I were you, I'd choose the Poly. If you're going to MK every morning the convenience of the Poly can't be beat. If you're at YC you either need to rely on the bus, or drive yourself. The downside of driving yourself, as I'm sure you know, is that you have to go through the TTC to get to MK. And, well the bus you just don't know what time it's picking you up......so I'd pick Poly.

Now, I did just get back from a week at the YC and loved it, but my kids are older and we don't do MK every day. If we did, I'd have to pick a monorail resort.

I will be able to better voice an opinion in Nov. when we go to the poly..
We are usally BC/YC concierge people, but this year we decided to try the Poly LV Conciege.. I am soooo excited to go, i think it will be great to be so close to the MK,since we love that park the best, and having the monerail, and being able to watch wishes from our room!!
However, we booked next year back at the BC already.. but who knows where we will end up, it's still a year away! LOL
