Has anyone here been to the Yacht Club Galley? We're thinking about heading there for dinner and wonder if it's any good. I haven't heard anything either way.

Thanks!

We've had breakfast and lunch at YCG but not dinner. Both meals were just great.:thumbsup2 I imagine that dinner is also very good.:flower3:

We ate dinner there a couple of years ago, and enjoyed it. It was fairly quiet which was a nice respite from the parks & noise, and the food was pretty good. It's good place to go if you are just looking for a decent meal without a bunch of Disney mayhem.

We ate dinner there in March after I had been wanting to for a long time. We really enjoyed ourselves. It was just myself and my husband and the reservation was for 6:25. The restuarant was about 1/2 full so you could probably make a reservation at any time without problems. I'd still make a reservation though. The restaurant itself is a bit upscale but it's still a casual dining place if that makes sense. You would feel fine dressing up, in business casual or in park cloths (we were in park cloths).

We thought the food was good. Not anything that would make you doing handsprings but good safe food. I had the half roasted chicken and it was the typical Disney huge chicken on steroids. My husband had a steak of some sort with a sauce on top. That was a big thing for him as he almost never accepts his steak with sauce o it. He will ask for a naked steak and then pour ketchup all over it. He didn't this time. I had a very good clam chowder for an appetizer - now that was good enough for handsprings. We didn't get dessert since we were both quite full. Our dessert was the nice hard candies they have in a huge basket at the exit.

It was a very good dining experience for us and if I get my family down there next year, Yacht Club Galley is #1 on my list for a family dinner or lunch.

Yacht Club Galley has my favorite creme brulee on property--the maple infused version. It is much better than the one that used to be served at Le Cellier, IMO.

We were at the Yacht Club Galley a few weeks ago. Here is my review:

YACHT CLUB GALLEY:

We ate at the Yacht Club Galley on our arrival day. We had an ADR for 5:30pm. After arriving at the Tampa Airport at 1pm, driving to Orlando, and checking in at the Dolphin, everyone was ready for dinner. We arrived on time after a nice walk from the Dolphin, and were seated without a wait. The restaurant was pretty empty, but filled up by the time we were done with dinner.

DW is the picky eater. She had the grilled pork chop, and requested that it would be plain and cooked medium well. She didn't like the sides, so she ordered steak fries instead. Unfortunately, the pork chop was already marinated. But she still ordered it. It was good. The meat was nice and moist, and she loved the steak fries.

DS ordered the chicken noodle soup, and the chicken strips with fries. He had no problem enjoying his meal.

I ordered the special which was prime rib and mashed potatoes. I always like to have my meat cooked medium. It was cooked the right way, and was very good. I needed to order more side juice as the potatoes did a good job soaking it all up. The food was rather good, nothing special. I've read a lot of good reviews about this restaurant. I'm glad we gave it a try.

Food: B+
Service: B+
Atmosphere: B+

After our dinner, we return to the Dolphin by boat. We headed back to our room to unpack and get ready for our wonderful week at WDW.

I've had lunch and dinner there. I like it, it's nothing great but a place for good food and a relaxing atmosphere.

We had lunch there in October and had one of those strange meals, where everything just seemed to be going wrong. Our poor waitress was trying, but we had pretty poor service, food was okay but we waited FOREVER. It took us like an hour and half to have lunch, and we were one of three tables in our area. It was really ridiculous. But I'm sure it was a rare occurance and would be fine normally.

For some reason, during the "holiday season" (Dec 16-Jan 5) they are showing a buffet menu for dinner at the inflated holiday price of $32.99 per adult. Any guesses as to why they would divert from the normal menu?
