Planning a short (2 night) stay at the end of August for my husband and I. Mostly to just get away, hang by the pool, enjoy the resort, perhaps head over to Epcot or DHS for a little bit.
Is CL worth the price tag? We are very local and could easily just bring our own beverages and maybe some snacks but, would having CL access make the experience more "wow" for us? It seems like sometimes I hear about lackluster CL offerings.

TIA! :cutie:

This is only my family's opinion, but we would not do CL at YC again. I am glad we tried it, and there was nothing bad about our stay, but nothing spectacular either.

The YC is a great resort and we would absolutely stay there again! I don't think you can beat the location! But, the CL was just ok.

Our only comparison was our stay at WL CL, which was simply amazing. Truly magical. :lovestruc YC CL had a lot to live up to for us, and it definitely fell short. The food offerings at YC were little fried puff pastry items most nights, compared to the delicious chili, meatballs, chicken wings, chicken on a stick, scallops wrapped in bacon, etc...that we experienced at WL. (Oh YC did have scallops wrapped in bacon).

I can't really see how it would make it more "wow" for you. We really did love YC, but it wasn't because of CL. ::yes::

Lol, you would have to bring up my other resort option! And of course these offerings are right up the hubby's alley. Oh the decisions... :scratchin

If you have stayed club level at non-Disney resorts, you are going to be very underwhelmed with WDW CLs. I've done several of them both at Disney and elsewhere and I don't get a wow factor at even GF RPC which is the best Disney has.

YC CL is adequate. You will have a selection of bad wine and inexpensive beer for the alcohol offerings along with a limited selection of appetizers. There is nothing midday even worth going to the lounge. Breakfast is pastries and cold cereal.

It is convenient; not impressive.

Worth it? Nope.

I'd pay for a lagoon view there, but not concierge ever again.

Perhaps I don't have other resorts to compare it to, but the ability to get b-fast early in the morning was very valuable to me because of the xtra magic AM hours. Most of the stores at ground level didn't open until too late for me, whatever the hour was, because the buses would start running much earlier. They need to open their restaurants/stores earlier for those who want to take advantage of Magic Xtra AM hours. If we didn't have CL access we would have been stashing b-fast food the night before in our fridge and not much of it. I think having b-fast available that early in the morning so we could hustle to the buses was a good consideration.

Well, in addition to YCCL we have stayed BCCL, BWICL, WLCL, AKLCL and Grand Floridian RPC twice.

We love YCCL. It might just be our favorite of all of them. One night during our stay last year, they served real Maine lobster as one of the evening appetizers. We've never had anything that nice before -- even at GF RPC.

We'll be back to YCCL in a week and can't wait!

I'd pay for CL long before I would ever pay for lagoon view.

I was looking forward to that myself in April (despite living 45 minutes from the Maine border), and unfortunately, YC CL has done away with the lobster salad....:sad2:

Food was blah at the YC CL in May for us. The only benefit was the fast breakfast and coffee in the mornings, and the soft drinks throughout the day. Oh, and my husband drinks the beer. So that was a plus for him. Evening food offerings were nothing to get excited about. I don't think it's really worth the money for 2 adults, I'd rather take that money and do an elegant dinner or a fireworks cruise! :thumbsup2

My husband & I love the club level at the Yacht Club. We are returning for our third year there in September. The cast members are so caring. The breakfast isn't just pastries. There is always a hot option(oatmeal, etc). There are bagels, pastries, hard boiled eggs, cereal, fruit and lots of other things for breakfast.Check out the Yacht Club/concierge lounge photos on Allears.com. The food is very good. The appetizers & desserts were delicious. We enjoy the cordials at night too. It is an "extra"that we feel is worth doing. The location of the resort is perfect. We love the pool, the close location to Epcot & the short walk or boat ride to Hollywood Studios. I hope you both have fun!
