My nieces are going to park hop with us at Epcot/MGM when we are staying at the Yacht Club. They are already from the Orlando area and don't need accomodations. Do we have to have them be room guests to swim at Stormalong Bay? Which would be on the order of $25/each per night?

I'm not interested in breaking any rules (I would never want my son thinking that sort of thing would be OK), but if there is a legitimate way we thought it would be fun for the two girls to try SAB.

Thoughts? Comments? Suggestions?

..but I've heard that you can have guests as long as it doesn't exceed your room allotment. For example, if there were two of you staying in a Studio at BWV, -- the capacity is 4 people to a Studio so you can have 2 guests at SAB.

Can someone correct me if I'm wrong on this?

I am not sure how strict they still are at Y/B but when i stayed there 4 yrs ago, you had to show your room pass to get past the gate that leads to the pool area. This is to stop people from staying at 1 resort that has a so so pool from "crowding" the better pools. I agree with this policy, because Stormalong Bay is very crowded with just the resort guests. I couldn't get a chair unless I went early in the morning at time I preffered being in a park instead.

Usually the require EVERYONE in the party to have their own key, especially adults. If you're going at an uncrowded time, you might be allowed to bring them. If you want to guarantee them admission, you'd have to add them to your room.

If you can afford the 25.00 and it is not a big deal... then putting their names on the room reservation is the easiest way to go.

If you would rather not then you are going to have to ask when you are at the resort if you can have guests to the pool and they could say no.

I just stayed at BC a couple of weeks ago and they were very strict checking ID for every member of the party and issuing wristbands... I saw people asked by the life guard to get out of the water and go get a wristband.

It would be embarrassing if they did not let the girls in or asked them to leave the pool area.

I think you're right. $50 for one day isn't that big a deal ( considering what we are already paying for the room).

Thanks for the input! (I love this board!)

When we were there last month, I asked a lifeguard about bringing guests in. (Our friends were staying at All Stars.) She told me that all I would have to do is bring them in WITH me and show my room key. She did not say they would have to bring theirs to show they were also Disney guests somewhere else.

When I was there in May they gave wristbands during Memorial Day weekend and didn't the resy of the week. I think if they go in with you and you show your room key it won't be a problem, they didn't ask for everyones room keys when they gave out wristbands as long as one member of the group had one.

There is alot of variation on the official policy. I would ask the lifeguard the day before what you should do. I had no problem when my brother,an Orlando local, came to visit us one afternoon, but I made sure I checked with the lifeguard first.

It all depends. We have been there during the summer when they asked for everyone's room ID, even the kids. It just depends. You'll see signs at most of the Disney pools that they are for the exclusive use of the guests of the resort. How much they enforce that? I just depends.
