Ok our next trip is going to be a long way off. Which gives us a lot of time to save which is good. But being the Disney world nut that I am I need to start some planning now. ( we are also on the international adoption roller coaster right now so i also need something else to think about)

Our plan is to go back to Disney with our daughter November 2008. She will be two and a half at that point. We are going to stay at one of the resorts on the monorail. Which one would you stay at and why???
We are leaning towards GF but would like other's opinions.

We stayed at the Poly in November 2004 with our then DD5. She loved the volcano pool. She loved the waterfalls and colorful birds. Also, the beach was nice for her to build sand castles. She loved lying in the hammocks too. Also, there were a lot of kids there too. I vote for the Poly. Very family friendly.

Ditto on the Poly! We just stayed there with my Dsis and her 3 boys, 5,4,2 and my DS2 and DD9. The children LOVED the volcano pool and the beach. The beach connects to the zero entry pool via a deck that is about 15-20 wide. It is also child friendly with all the colors, sounds, vegetation, animals, etc. Yes, animals! We saw lizards, ducks and even a kitty cat while we were there. I wonder if that cat escaped from the Kennel? Anyway, Dsis and her family stayed at the GF last November and said they liked the Poly better with the kids. Without the kids, they would do either one. If you choose the Poly, you must take DD2 to the GF's 1900 Park Fare Disney Princess dinner. She will love it! Prayers and luck to you on your international roller coaster adoption! :wizard:

I would also choose Poly... I think you can't go wrong there... and you have a character breakfast there too:

Taken from www.allearsnet.com

Polynesian -- 'Ohana Character Breakfast - every morning. Characters include Lilo and Stitch, Pluto and Mickey. The meal is served family-style and features eggs, waffles, meats, breads, fruit and more. Breakfast $18.99-A/$10.99-C. Advance Reservations are strongly recommended.

Weve been staying at Contemporary and love it. For me, its WDW. My son loves the fact that the monorail goes through it too. Its the first stop from MK, 1 stop to TTC, a short walk to MK, and has Chef Mickeys and good shops. We get a wing room which is a short walk to the main tower building. One note-rumor has it that there will be some major renovations to the restaurant and shop areas next year. The South and Tower rooms have all recently been renovated, while the north wing is to be torn down/turned into a DVC resort.

I stayed at GF a few years ago. While it is nice, I found that to get to our room and car was quite a haul, especially with luggage. With a wing room at CR, our car was almost right out our door. I havent used the pools at either resort (too cold) but I did see a small waterslide at the CR's pool. The other thing, we can watch Wishes from either the balcony in the Tower, or outside our room in the wing. We also are able to sit on our patio and watch the water parade at night.

We are staying at the CR tower next month for the first time, and we chose it over the GF and Poly, because to us there is no point staying in a monorail resort if you have to walk a lot to get to the station, and we definetly couldn´t affort GF concierge in the building with the monorail station. And it can be quite a walk from your room to the monorail at the Poly and at GF.

We also like being in the same building as the restarurants, refillable mug station, etc. This is why we love the WL too.

And, depending on the season (we usually go during hurricane season) it is best for us to have everything in the same building, in case they don´t let people outside.

Very wise to choose a monorail resort! What a break at night when you don't have to break down the stroller to get on a bus! We chose the Poly last trip and this, but you really can't go wrong on any of them. I think the GF is nice, but not worth the extra $$ when you have two other more reasonable choices.

Congrats on your adoption! We adopted DD (now 3.5 yrs) when she was 2 and took her to WDW when she was three months shy of 3. We stayed at the Poly for the monorail (and for nostalgic reasons -that's where I stayed as a kid in the 70s). She loved it. You can't go wrong with the Poly.

Enjoy and congrats again!!
