Sorry, this is a cross-post from the Cruise Line Forum. The advice needed is for the stroller, not just the cruise, so I thought you all would be experts!

This will be our second cruise and last time we went, our daughter was only 9 months old. This cruise she'll be almost 3, but she'll still need a stroller for the ports of call and the airport.

I would love to get another stroller, but it would really be mostly for this trip and until she stops using a stroller all together. Our old stroller is big and bulky and was really a pain in the tush to keep in our stateroom. I'd love an umbrella-type stroller, but maybe a little nicer than the $20 ToysRUs ones. Maybe a small basket or something. Also, my daughter isn't a giant or anything, but I'd like it to be a little roomy for an older toddler.

Any suggestions?

PS. I would just use the rental strollers on the ship, but we'll need it for the airport, too.

Go with the Mac Volo. Its so lightweight and has a carry strap. My DD9 can still fit in ours!!! It holds up to 55 pounds (but I think much more- DD is 56) and you could get many more years use out of it if you took trips to the Disney parks. These are great strollers, especially for older kids. We bought ours a few years ago just for Disney trips. DD doesnt use it now, but it hangs in our utility room to use for DD#4. We also bought her a Mac Quest for now as she is a newborn and needs a recline. Wish I had seen these strollers YEARS and 4 kids ago!!!!!

You will love the ease and lightweight (8.6lbs!) of the Maclaren Volo as you disembark and drag it around port, etc. It does have a small basket and a rain cover (2007 model) as well. It's handles are also higher so easier to push for long periods of time. The manuverabilty in small places is excellent and it pushes with one hand fully loaded if need be. Worth every penny. I'd sell you my extra if you were local, I own 3 of these I love them so much!

I got my most recent stroller for very similar reasons and agonized forever it seemed over the right choice. As a disclosure, I am not a Mac fan, but know lots of friends who adore theirs. The great thing about strollers is there is something for everyone out there.

I chose a Rock Star Baby Candy in black for primarily my youngest son who is about to turn 3, but my almost 5 yr old LOVES it, too!! It is beyond lightweight, has nice storage, is easily folded, has a handle, fully reclines (big bonus for those of us who have kids who will still nap in the stroller) and the foot rest is even adjustable so their legs don't hang over so badly when snoozing. The canopy is large and it's very durable.

They can be found online using codes, etc for about $99 or maybe a little more. It's often posted at $149 but can be had for much less.

And, not that I'm a Bon Jovi fan, it is kind of cool that it was designed by Jon Bon Jovi and Tico Torres and is a nice alternative to all the usual suspects parked around.

Whatever you pick ~ ENJOY ~ and have a great time!

Another vote for the Mac Volo, my dd is 7 and she still fit in it fine in DL two weeks ago. It's extremely light, easy to carry with a strap, folds up small and still has some cargo space underneath.
