I noticed on the Disneyland site that the tentative date for filming the WDW Xmas Parade is 7th November. Has anybody got any idea when final arrangements are announced? Particularly interested in whether they announce the guests before the day....Bet it won't be Miley again though :-( I'm trying to sort out some sort of itinerary for holiday but it's made more difficult by the fact that there is no definate info yet re park hours and show schedules. At least I managed to get our TOT tickets today:cool1:
My daughter would love this if last years videos are anything to go by. Has anybody been on a filming day before? What time would you suggest to arrive at the park and any other tips?

The date is November 7th (so far unless they change it again). My kiddo is dancing in the parade this year. The lady who runs the "dancing part" said that the taping will be between 9-10 that morning. I haven't heard who the special guests are..It's going to be a crazy busy day because the kids who dance in the parade are also dancing in the regular evening parade as well. I hope this helps..

Wow...that's one looooooooong day for the kids!
Thanks for the times:thumbsup2 I'll just have to keep checking to see if they release the names of the guests now but I have added this date as a definate Disneyland date on my itinerary:banana:

I had posted some information my cousin received, she and the dance group she is in are dancing the parade - wondering if it's the same as JAZZATOLA's ?

I tried to remove private information, and wanted to share the email with the board because it has some interesting information about the filming and parade:

DISNEYLAND HOLIDAY PARADE SPECTACULAR – NOVEMBER 6 AND 7, 2009

As many of you have heard, **** dancers have been asked to participate in the Disney Holiday Parade and ABC Christmas Special. This is going to be a fun, new adventure for our more advanced dancers. To date, I don’t have the exact price but have been given an approximation. The initial price below includes a one-day ticket to Disneyland, an 8 x 10 picture of our group of dancers in the Disney costumes, a professional dvd of the Parade, poms or a prop, souvenir pin, costume, rehearsals with Disney/ABC staff and the performance. Extra Disneyland day passes may be added to the price at a reduced rate. The family tickets will be available at a largely reduced rate much the same as Magic Music Days packets. All dancers must purchase a performer package and cannot use their annual passes. Remember these prices are an approximation as they have not got a final costume price but they have assured me these are close and may even be lower than what we have posted.

1 Day Performance package with 1 day/1 park ticket - $250
2 Day Performance package with 2- day Park Hopper - $285
3 Day Performance package with 3-day Park Hopper - $305
4 Day Performance package with 4-day Park Hopper - $320

In September, we will be sent a dvd of the choreography which is broken into two sections – one for the younger dancers and the other for the older dancers. We will be teaching the choreography on a Sunday at ****’s Studio (there will be a $1 rehearsal fee to **** for the use of her studio – payable by each dancer). All dancers must know the choreography and be able to perform it with a huge smile in forward motion prior to arriving at Disneyland. On Friday, November 6th, the dancers will meet at the backstaging area of Disneyland (details to follow at later date). At that time, they will be costumed and will go into a full parade rehearsal in forward motion. From this rehearsal, Disney and the ABC staff will be selecting dancers who will be dancing back-up to the Disney Stars in the Christmas Holiday Spectacular which is filmed directly after the parade on Saturday, November 7. Those dancers who are chosen will not be dancing in the parade but will be taught choreography for the show and will be in the show instead. WE, at ****, have no jurisdiction as to who is chosen for the back-up dancers.

On Saturday, November 7th, the dancers will be given a time to meet (probably at 7 a.m.) at a staging area. The parents (with a Disney Park ticket) will then be able to go into Disneyland (dressed in Christmas apparel) as they will be the audience – remember this is shown ”live” on Christmas Day. After the parade and the show is finished filming, the dancers will be taken back to the staging area where they can change into street clothes and join their family in the Park – (using their one-day pass). Please note – you will have a one-day/ one-park pass in this package which is good for Nov. 7th for Disneyland only – all other days must be added to your package.

You will be responsible for paying for your own room via credit card directly to the hotel including all incidentals. A deposit of one night’s fee must be given at the time the reservation is made. I will give you all of the ticket order information for both the performance packages and family discount tickets as soon as I get them. This should be a fun experience for our dancers – so mark your calendars, reserve your hotel rooms and tell all of your friends to tune in to ABC on Christmas morning to see our dancers in action.

Crikey...I live in the UK so have had to convert the currency roughly in my head but it sounds like a costly experience for you as parents, however it will be one that will stay with your kids forever.
That made very interesting reading...Thanks for posting and hope you all have a fantastic time:cool2:

No, it is expensive! I feel sorry for the parents, but I think they are use to the expenses that come along with dancing. I'm sure the prices cover a lot of other things associated with the dance group, but it is still pricey!

We're probably going to make it a big family trip, so it's too bad my cousin and her parents can't stay at the same place the rest of us will be staying at - they get a special hotel rate, but we're still paying less elsewhere !

So they are going to be taping this on Nov 7th and then showing it on ABC on Christmas day and say it is live?

More or less. They tape the CA portion of the parade. ABC airs the Christmas Day parade live from WDW. When they cut to DL, it's taped.
