I am dizzy from typing in code and contract numbers! I'm hoping someone has been looking at similar dates and can help me out. We will be at WDW from 12/18 - 12/30. We really only need a car for 1 or 2 weekdays to take care of some business in the Orlando area. Of course, I am looking for the cheapest deal! I have many "memberships" but haven't seen anything for less than about $50 per day unless it a code I really don't "qualify" for. Any advice? Thanks.

Is the popcorn because I have asked a "stupid question" or because you're waiting to see the answer too?

OK, thanks for the clarification. I was hoping I hadn't stepped over a line there and asked a question I shouldn't have. (I have searched the posts and haven't really found a code for that time and days. I was hoping to use National at the Car Care Center.)popcorn::

Using codes you are eligible for, what types of prices are you seeing? It is possible that you're expectations for a "reasonable" price is a little off.

Unless you have a corporate code, most of the promo codes and coupons are blacked out that week...

It's the busiest week of the year in Orlando. If you REALLY need something book it or risk getting locked out or paying even more. You can always cancel if you find a better deal.

Car rental costs during the holidays are crazy. I booked earlier this year and got a week through Hertz with my USAA discount for $180 + taxes and fees. The same rental today is showing up at more than $500! I think you just have to keep playing with the discount codes (it's how I spend my "mute button" time on conference calls!).

I booked in February 300 plus for an imtermediate. The airlines changed our flights and the price went to 750 plus, called Dollar and they were able to adjust the times and since we were returning the car earlier in the day we're paying LESS!!! BTW we rented three vehicles....I was having a heart attack!

Budget BCD X474200 comes to a total of $433 for your dates after fees and taxes. You should be able to find a coupon to stack onto that. At Budget, coupons come off at return (but MUST present up front). I'd guess you can easily find a $25 off, maybe a $40 off for that long.

I went through Costco (like Sam's Club), and got a full size car rental from Alamo from 11/27 to 12/6 for $255, all fees included. Picking up at Orlando Airport and Returning to Disney's Car Care Center, then taking Magic Express back to the airport the next day. The codes are on Costco's Travel section of their website. You do need to be a Costco Member (officially) to use it - but I don't believe they're actually going to check our card, because we're picking up at a kiosk.

Good Luck :)
