XM/Sirrus renewal ?

I agree that their customer service leave a lot to be desired. I do not like having to talk to someone outside the United States. I keep calling back over and over again until I reach someone in the US.

We cancelled at the end of August and then were flooded with emails and phone calls trying to get us to renew. After a two week "trial" we renewed for another year.

I called three months ago to cancel since we were tired of paying for satellite radio with commercials in it. We were paying $24.77 a month for two radios and they offered 3 months free on one radio and 5 months for $25 on the other. I took the offer but am not renewing.

Just dont every give them a card number. They renew then send out the notices afterward. There is a small billing charge to send you a bill but I learned the hard way, I will never give them a card number again.

Thanks everyone for the ifo. I paid it because i was afraid to loose it i love it , but i didn't like the price. I will take the advice though and see what happens.

I threatened to cancel for over a year. Sometimes I was offered free months or 5 months for $20. After the last 5 month deal they charged my credit card for $175. I called to cancel since that was just crazy and luckily I check my credit card statement all of the time. The person I spoke to was so rude. I didn't get any offers to extend. I asked why did they just automatically charge my card with no written notice (I had originally been on the once a quarter plan). They said every time you hang up with them you are giving them authorization to charge your card. What?!! Needless to say, I am not renewing with them again!

Like everyone else said, call and ask for a deal and they will offer you garbage or the full price package. Get transferred to cancellation and suddenly they have all sorts of packages to offer you. I just renewed for $77 for the year.

And dont try their customer service dept on their website either because they just tell you we will honor your request to cancel if you wish otherwise you will renew at 'our' current rate.

We paid by check for this past year and got the $77 for the year. I wont pay more than that but they havent sent me anything in the mail about renewing either...

I called yesterday to cancel. She told me the 5 for 20 was no longer available. She wanted to "give me" 6 months for 45; told her no, and then she came back with 6 months for $30. I can live with that.

We had paid for a year of service by check. They didn't start sending renewal notices until that year was up. I was hoping they would offer something cheaper so I didn't respond. Instead they sent a bill for the time between when my year ended and they shut me off. I was annoyed with that but after trying to call several times but never getting through I paid that bill and wrote on it to cancel the service.

Then we started getting invoices again-I figured they were just trying to get us to sign up again. NO...they had turned the service back on. And when I didn't pay the bill this time they sent it to a collection agency.:headache:

We disputed it with the collection agency and while it has been a few months I haven't gotten anything back from them. But no more bills either.

I tell everyone I know to stay away from them!!!!!!

Paying by check does NOT keep you "safe".

I canceled because they wouldn't come down from $97 per year for the car and extra for the Internet/iPhone. I've found numerous free radio apps for the iPhone and iPad. I now just plug in when I get in the car. The only station I really miss is POTUS.

I just renewed 2 days ago also. I told them I wanted to cancel because it wasnt something we wanted to be spending that much money on and they offered me 6 months free so it was $84 for year with taxes.
I also have XM on a portable unit that I have a lifetime subscription with it. I would do the same on the sirius but its in the car and we will probably trade it before it is worth it.

I just renewed both of our vehicles for $156. Thanks to this thread I knew what they wanted when they called and that I could dicker with them over the price. I was pretty happy.

Is it $156 total, or $156 plus taxes and fees? It is about time for me to renew again. Thanks.

Taxes and fees were included in that price. My one vehicle didn't expire until next month so they did give me a $14 credit for that subscription.
