XM or Sirius?? Don't care for Howard!

I know I have been wanting to get this for months. I'll be telling one of my co-workers about it in the morning so he can get it too. Then we are going to split a home kit, so we can bring in our radios and listen in the morning.

Now, I need to find a good remote car starter and I'm all set

Does anyone have an opinion on Sirius equipment? Costco has the Starmate Replay for $60. Anyone have the S50?

Okay, what would you choose? What about hardware? Was looking at XM roady xt + home kit (around $70 after rebate). What for Sirius?? Would like to do this as inexpensively as possible.......was leaning toward XM, searched DIS and saw so many like Sirius.

Looking to play music/talk radio in the car and at home. (Would like portable, but know that's not possible with Sirius)


I would NOT listen to Howard, have 2 young kids who are warped enough.

Demo: 35 years old, female, married, work only part-time, live in major Midwest city, drive a minivan!!

(Originally I wanted an Ipod, but I think satellite radio is a better fit for my personality)

Not "exactly" true. They do have a portable that plays the satellite radio when docked, and recorded stuff from a memory card. And, soon enough, I am sure, they will have a truly portable radio. Why wouldn't they?

I only have XM. Just want to let you know that you can get the Roady 2 and the home kit at Amazon.com for under $55 shipped. Don't have to deal with rebate.

I just got the Audiovox XM receiver with car kit at Circuit city this weekend- after rebate, it was $19.99. It is for DH for Christmas- he has been wanting it for a while.

I decided on XM mainly because it does not have Howard Stern on it- I hate that man!! DH doesn't care for him, either.

We have Sirius and LOVE it. I really think Sirius is going to be the long-term winner. As other's have mentioned there is a lot of women-specific programming. Yes we bought it for the NFL and for Howard, but we have discovered a lot of other favorites all ready.

DH has the Sportster IR, which will let you pause like Tivo and pick up the game or whatever broadcast where you left off.

I am saving up for the Sirius S50 for my car and to use at the gym.

This is tough, because I have XM now in my office. I basically bought it a few years ago to listen to the NASCAR station. I believe NASCAR is headed to Sirius, so I will probably be changing services soon.

We have XM music on our Directv satellite and I really wasn't all that impressed with it. We've had our Sirius for almost a year and both DH and I love it!

Okay guys, DH is hung up on the antenna for the home unit. We live smack dab in the middle of Indianapolis, but we have a LOT of 200 year old trees in our yard and neighborhood.

For the home antenna, I know some people put it on the roof, but is it wired to the home docking station or wireless? How do you do it if it's wired??
