Yesterday, XM satellite radio announced that there are now over 2 million subscribers to XM. (Woohoo!) Do you have XM? What are your favorite channels?

We've had XM since December of 2001. I can't imagine being without it! My favorite channels are 40's on 4, Frank's Place, On the Rocks, the Blend (this one has changed lately and I'm really liking it!), the three classical stations, and Radio Classics. We've now driven three times from Indiana to WDW with XM and it sure makes a difference. And now they have traffic and weather for several big cities so we can check out Orlando on the way down (or anytime, for that matter). ::MickeyMo ::MinnieMo

I will be if Howard Stern switches to Satellite like he keeps threatening to do.

My dad has it and loves it.

XM isn't on Dish Network.

I do! My favorite channels are 80's, the Boneyard, and Fox News.

Sorry, got it mixed up with Sirius.

I'm waiting to hear the ruling on whether broadcasting local news nationwide is allowable or not before I go to satellite. No reason to pay for the radio if I don't get 50% of what I normally listen to.

I'm going to look at a car tonight that has this, is there some kind of fee or membership charge for it?

just got XM last Sat. The last straw for me was flipping channels on my 30 minute communte home and hearing various stages of Bohemian Rhapsody on THREE different stations I listen to!!! Argh!!! Plus, sports talk is lame here. I got the portable device that allows me to move it from the car to the house or the office (although I'm having a tought time finding a good signal at the office)

For those that asked, the fee is $9.99 a month, but you can pay a one time fee for the whole year, or pre-pay two years or more.

Not to burst your bubble or anything but XM radio lost 170 million in the first qtr. Howard Stern will not join XM due to their affiliation (30% owned by Clear Channel) and finally none of the sat companies will be able to afford Stern under his current salary of $20million a year.

I do have XM and I love Old Time Radio and Sonic Theatre :)

I had it for the free trial period then I canceled it. I never really found a station that fit my tastes and I prefer to burn my own mix CDs and play them.

It just wasn't worth the $10 a month. Of course that may also be because I have a 2 mile commute to work so I'm not usually stuck in my car for long periods of time.

We have it in our Tahoe. I love it!

I also like the 80's channel and the news channels.

I think we received 30 or 90 days free when we bought the car.

My dad has it in his truck. It was a blessing coming across the country last summer, I honestly don't know what we would have done without it. When you're driving that fast through hick areas, it's impossible to find decent radio stations.
We love the Nashville and Highway 16 stations on XM. Country!!!

DH wants to get me satellite radio for my BDay. I have been doing a lot of research on both XM and sirius. XM looks better at the moment. Lots more subscribers, so hopefully more stable in the long run. Both companies are still paying off huge start up costs. I wouldn't listen to Howard Stern if you put a gun to my head, so that doesn't affect me.

I've had it since October - my Honda came with it. It was free for 3 months. I love it too. Like the 80's, 90's The Blend, the Comedy Channels ( no kids here!). I also like the traffic and MSNBC. I'd definitely get it again!I don't listen to much radio in the house so I wouldn't need it for that.

We have it and love it. It was great when we took our road trip to Florida last month.

Yesterday we activated our third XM radio. It's the one in the boombox (I know- we're a little behind the times :)) so I can now be mobile with my satellite radio listening. :teeth: Love it!

The Dh is a GSM for a car dealership that is an authorized Sirius Satellite Radio dealer. We have it hooked up in his demo for free an I LOOOOOOOOVVVVVEEEEEEEE it!!

Fave channels are ....

Disney (course)
totally 70'
Big 80's
the pulse
the vault
the trend
and alt nation
love the sports and comedy ones as well....this list could go on all day, safe to say I like more than I don't!

We were thinking about switching to some Satellite service, not sure if it's the one you posted, but we just got cable internet in our town, so we decided against it.
