Xbox Kinect is Freaking Awesome (with video)

I wouldn't be anywhere close to brave enough to post video of my wife and I, card-carrying AARP members, playing Kinect, but I agree with the overall assessment: Freaking Awesome. I was pretty indifferent when the wife bought an Xbox 360 a few months ago. We tried playing a couple of games, but they seem generally too hard for us. All we've checked out, so far, with the Kinect are the games that come with it, but we had a lot of fun already popping bubbles and plugging leaks.

Pretty cool!
Can they make something like that for the Wii? I am not going to buy another game system.

The Kinect is awesome! The whole family has been having a blast with it, even the non-gamers. Some really cool technology.

We just bought ours night before last and DH and DS have been having a blast with it!

Have you checked out any of the games as part of Xbox live arcade? I find the games there (generally) are more suited to my talent level (meaning, I find many of the games for sale now too hard as well). Not sure what happened to me - there was a time when I could sit down with a game and master it fairly quickly. Now, I just die a lot :)

We've played Braid and a couple of others. They are a little easier, true.

I remember making Star Commander on some video game in the 1970s. I was an ace. No... pfft. :)

On Christmas list for my daughter........ ;)

Really, this looks very cool. I own every game system, and our 360 gets the most use for sure. Adding this, I think the Wii is going to be seeing less and less use over time Gotta have it. :thumbsup2

The nice thing about the Xbox 360 is the number of great games of all types. With a 10 yr old son and twin 7 yr old daughters there are obviously a lot of family games for us, but I find the Xbox to have more role playing games that I like.

As per Pete's suggestion, Pinball FX 2 is my latest addiction.

We have all three consoles, and I'd say we use the Xbox 360 about 70% of the time. The PS3 has very few family oriented games, mainly a shooters box, and we use it mainly for Blurays. The Wii has some good Mario games, but very few if any good third party games. Hopefully Epic Mickey will change this trend. The Wii is a dust collector most of the time.

BTW, for anyone wanting some more friends to game with, my gamertag on both the Xbox and PS3 is: Geekdadcanada
