How is the WII not hardcore?

Why don't you like it?
I'm not trying to challenge you or anything, I'm just curious because I was thinking about asking for one for Christmas.

There's a few reasons, so I'll make a list. And then I'll explain why I somewhat like Xbox 360.

• PS3 has much better graphics
• Has Blu-ray
• Has a billion USB ports
• It looks better(though that doesn't actually affect your gameplay, I like things that look good.)
• I'm pretty sure you can play PS2 games with it
• The controller is better, it's more comfortable and I find it easier to use.
• You can watch DVDs
• Web browsing
• Free online
• Little Big Planet, Metal Gear Solid 4, Resistance, and Heavenly Sword.

I only like Xbox because it has Gears of War.

it's online play is lacking.no voice chat.no intense first person shooters.graphics are worse than xbox360.controls can be difficult at times. don't get me wrong, the wii is great! i love playing wii sports or harry potter, but i want a "hardcore gaming system".

Ok well... they are coming out with voice chat for wii soon... Who cares about graphics... and you just need to find the good first person shooters... is it just me or has this become the Xbox Vs. WII board?

No, i love the wii! i play it almost every day. I'm not saying one is better than the other, i'm just saying i want my wii for when i play games made only for nintendo(mario party,etc.), and i want an xbox so i can play games made simply for xbox(halo,etc.).

Something i just remember about the 360, leave it in an open environment and make sure the vents arn't clogged. If you do you get the "red rings of death" (usually happens because of overheating), and if you do get them, you have send in your xbox to microsoft and you dont get back for 4-6 weeks. Luckly for me though i've only gotten the rings because things were plugged in, but i have the halo 3 special edition xbox. And ive had it for about a year at christmas

My cousin got rrod last year, cuz he's like wicked intense and plays for hours on end. i'm buying the cooling system for it.

I love all 3 systems. i have the PS3 and the Wii. friend brought over the 360 yesterday, and I've got to say, it is excellent with the online multiplayer part. while the PS3 has good graphics and Blue-ray, and the wii is good for groups and family play.

I'd get the 360 in a heartbeat, but it just kinda sucks, cause i'd have to pay for the wireless router.(wired connection impossible) that is a negative for the system. it just doesnt make alot of sense to pay $199 and then $100 more for just the basics. Then another $50 for the game (Halo 3 in particular) Like i said before, i love the Xbox 360, its just wierd that they make you pay for a wireless add-on, unlike its competitors.

has anyone else on here had to face this dillema? and is it actually worth getting all of that?

it might be a little bit easier to get it now.
after a little bit of googling, I've been able to find a way to make a wireless router into a wireless reciever. you can get one for as little as $30.

eh, i'd forget it unless you are very experienced in firmware and how to read software. very vague instructions (and hard to find)

The price for the wireless network connector for the 360 has come a bit down in price, so its not as bad as before.
