I can relate. I've never seen winds like that before! We also had 60-70mph winds here in B'ham. Several sections of my wooden fence were blown down and damaged.
Don't feel bad. Those of us that had *no* experience with hurricane force winds really didn't know how to prepare because we didn't know what to expect.
