X factor audition tomorrow, eeks

Hi everyone
well as the title says tomorrow I am trying out for the x factor 2010. And as the week has progressed i have got more and more nervous, the weather foreccast for rain is not helping

This is the first stage, so the one with the 1000's of people at an arena, doubt very much that Mr Cowell will be in attendance, but I have been seriously practising my song and am keeping everything crossed. Just think how many disney trips could be paid for with some prize money

If you have any tips or dont do then please let me know. i know a few of you watch it and will have seen the audition process so just trying to think of any advice you can give. For instance, i'm thinking fancy dress is a big NO

oh and if anyone has got tips on holding their nerves together please let me know. thats my biggest downfall really, when i hold it together i dont have a bad singing voice, when i'm nervous oh boy!

anyway will let you know how i get on, not expecting to get through really, but will be very interesting to see what goes on

In all honesty, good luck to you, but I would remember that they are just looking to make good television and quick money.
I know many people who have auditioned over the years for the X-Factor (I am a trained musician myself) who are incredibly talented, but have been told in the early stages that they do not have the right 'look' or 'background' that the producers are looking for in a contestant. I am speaking of Degree-level performers, who are incredibly skilled and talented, beyond anything you see on these shows. All they are looking for is sad stories and people who's friends and family don't have enough respect or love to stop them from making a fool of themselves in front of the country.
Do you hand on heart think that Jedward and the other contestants last year were THE BEST 10 singers in the country at that time? No, but they were attractive and/or irritating enough for people to keep watching every week, and produce massive profits for the producers with slots in the ad breaks & phone votes. The whole thing is completely rigged, as there are numerous auditions before people even get in front of the judges, so obviously the ones who are completely awful are deliberately placed in this situation ahead of more genuinely talented people.
Sorry to sound cynical about it, but this programme is the closest thing we've got to a modern day freak-show. People watch it to laugh and scorn desperate and naive people, not to discover genuine new and exciting talent
The whole thing just makes me a bit sad.
