So our big gift to the kids this year is the XBox 360 with Kinnect (not even sure if I'm spelling that right :rotfl2:)
Do you have any games you recommend that are worth the money (the games are so darn expensive) AND most importantly have you seen any advertised video game deals that are great?:confused3
Thanks in advance- I figure other people can benefit from this thread as well :thumbsup2

We don't have it yet, but my kids are also getting it for Christmas. The games are got for my kids is Wipe Out 2, The newest dance one, and minute it to win it. I decided on two of the games because they are their favorite TV shows to watch.

My children love the kinects adventure game that came with it. They also have kinectimals and love that game. I just saw they have a new one with bears. My husband had some points and bought them a game off the xbox site called fruit ninja that they love. I'm probably going to buy my DD just dance kids for the kinect. I don't know how old your kids are to know if these are good games for them but if it helps my kids are 6 and 4.

My kids are ages 5 & 7 and they love Kinectimals and Wipeout. There's a new Kinectimals coming out this season that also includes bears. As a family, we also have fun with the adventures game that came with the Xbox. Then, of course, there's the Disneyland Adventures game coming out on the 15th! We also like the Lego games, but those aren't for the Kinect, just the regular Xbox. You can find many of them for $20 or less.

Sometimes Toys R Us will have a BOGO 50% sale on video games or a buy 2 get a 3rd free, something like that. Target has had sales on video games, too. I rarely buy video games at Walmart because I've never seen them have sales like the other 2 stores. Amazon is also a good place to look.

Right now, this week, Best Buy has some deals on Xbox games. Not sure if it's what you're looking for, but if you buy a Harry Potter Deathly Hallows 2 DVD or Blu-Ray, you can get any HP Lego video game $20 off. I bought the movie and the game for $45 before tax. Considering that the game alone is $50, I'm happy.

If your kids don't have to have the latest games, you can find a lot of the older ones for much less money. That's what we do since our kids are young enough that they don't pay attention to what new games have come out.

We got the Kinect last year and haven't purchased games for it since we got it so the ones we have used are older but still fun.
We have:
Kinect Adventures (I think this is the one that came with it)
Kinectimals
Joy Ride (this is a favorite)
Dance Central (another favorite)

This year I am getting them
Just Dance 3 (we have the Just dance games for the Wii and love them)
Wipe Out In The Zone
and Skylanders (this is just for the Xbox, not a Kinect game)

Big retailers will have sales on their video games like Buy 2 Get 1 free. Some will have specific sales on Kinect games, and some will have get a GC with purchase of Xbox games (TRU is running that now but its for games that are $60 and more).

A couple of years ago we went to TRU for the buy two get one free or maybe even half off and since they didn't have the games we wanted we went next door to Best Buy and they matched it.

We have joyride, adventures, and game party in motion. Right now on our list we have dance party 3, sesame street once upon a monster, and the disneyland game. We are getting family game night 4 just not sure if we will get it for the wii or the kinect, we also like playing carnival games on the wii so that might be another one for our list. I try not to get too many of the games b/c they can blow my budget really quickly especially between the two game systems.

My son is 5 we have the following:
Adventures 2nd favorite
Sports
Joyride - Favorite
Carnival Games- 3rd tied
Kinectimals - 3rd tied
Dance Central
Yourshape Fitness Evolved
Kinectimals was hard for himn to control until he tried it again last month. It may have been a problem with the kinect sensor placement but I think he was just too small for it. I will say he rocks at Joyride, beats me most of the time and I am trying. We just got Carnival Games and he seems to like it but still prefers Joyride. If we play two players he generally wants Adventures. Most of those games go on sale regullary because they came out last year.

I just saw Walmart's Black Friday deal, it is XBox 360, 4Gb, with Kinect, and a $50 gift card, for $199.

I plan on buying online and hoping for Amazon to match it. If not, I will be at their electronics department for the time, they stated it will be on sale.

They're not Kinect games but we love the Lego games. I think that some of them are quite reasonable now.
