Hey,

I'm not a teen, but I'm really hoping some of you gamers will help me. My dh wants an Xbox for Christmas to play Halo. I've seen a basic system, a system with 60 hard drive and a pro version with 120 hard drive. Which do I need? He may or may not play much, so can I buy the basic and then add memory later or do you need lots of memory to play Halo at all? Also what accessories would he want?

Thanks!

If he isn't going to play much then I would go with the basic and then later access if he needs an upgrade.

I am pretty sure you can use the basic...but you might want to get him XBOX Live because then he can play online.

I have the xbox 360 halo 3 limited edition xbox and that has only 8gb on it and i have plenty of room left. So i would go with the lowest gb one.

To play halo you will need the xbox LIVE gold membership its like $50 for a year and i think $20 for three months.

If you plan on using wireless connection to acess your interweb, you will need to buy a $100 wireless conecter.

If you plan on using just your normal internet i would suggest buying a 100ft ethernet cable depending on how far away your tv is from an internet jack. (the system comes with about a 10 ft one i think).

You will also need to buy the game

I suggest getting a wireless controller with a play and charge kit (controllers really drain batteries fast)

You might also want to get xbox mic (I think one comes with the xbox tho)

I think thats it... hope that helps :)

I would go with the 60gb version. Yes it maybe cheaper to purchase the basic but if he want's more games and xbox live he will have to buy a HDD for it, which will possibly turn out more expensive.

Found a deal. is this good?

Basic x-box 360 + 2 game bundle for $199

Optional--Get the 60 GB starter pack (includes hard drive, 3 month subscription to live and headset) for $99

Total spent $299 and if we buy a game we get a $50 gift card (depending on which game --if we buy $49 game it's like getting a free game but if we buy $19 game we in essence get $31 credit to put towards something else like wireless controller)

:)

I say just buy live seperately if you don't need the hard drive. And you can get really cheap headsets at walmart.
