Wyndham points?

I know some of you own DVC, Wyndham, etc. My inlaws own RCI and Wyndham. I finally got my arms around their RCI points and they are using them to exchange into DVC for a week in Dec and then we are using them for a week next March.

Now they still have 154,000 Wyndham points for each year and they haven't used this year's points (extended them for 2 years for $39 so they don't expire until 9/30/12). But with current points, borrowing, etc. they could easily have 462,000 points to use in one year. I have no clue if this is a lot and would bring them something like a grandvilla somewhere or if many more Wyndham points are needed for decent accomodations. Can anyone give me a hit? Is 154,000 points each year a lot? My inlaws would like us to use them but we have quite a few DVC points of our own and I really don't know that we could find a use for Wyndham points, too.

wyndham points can be rented just like DVC - don't think RCI can?

A 2BR in high season can range from 154K to about 300K, or maybe a little more. Depends on the resort. Older/more rural/inland resorts tend to have lower point requirements, newer ones in urban or coastal settings tend to be more, as does Hawaii. Here's a link to the resort directory to give you an idea. Focus only on the Club resorts, not the Associate/Affiliate ones.

Thanks! That is exactly the info I was looking for.

The inlaws are going to offer the points to my SIL on the west coast but if we see something we want to use them for, I'm sure we can get points to use. Problem is having enough time for vacation when we already have the time spoken for with our DVC points and other family trips planned.

Wyndham is stronger in the Eastern US, but has a good presence in Hawaii and has been expanding west over the past several years with Oceanside, San Francisco, and Steamboat Springs. They should find something worth booking.

I own at both. Each has slightly different weightings for seasons, weekends, but in general I have found by dividing by 1000 it gets me to the correct ballpark

Just FYI...

I compiled a list of Wyndham Club Plus Resorts (no affiliates, associates, or Worldmark) just for grins. There are currently a total of 81 resorts in the following states, from highest number to lowest:

FL - 14

HI & SC - 9 each

RI - 6

CA - 5

PA & TN - 4 each

CO, MO, NC & VA - 3 each

AZ, the DC area, LA, NV, TX, WI, & USVI - 2 each

and AR, GA, MA, & NJ - 1 each
