Wyndham Grand or Waldorf Astoria?

DH has surprised me with a 3 day Happy Birthday trip to Orlando in May! We have stayed at the Waldorf Astoria and thought it was amazing but I have also looked at the Wyndham Grand which looks lovely also. Any suggestions?
Also thinking about a dinner show, which would you choose? Thanks!

Both are very good but the Waldorf is a 5 star.

Valet parking is good at both. Both have good spas, the Waldorf is pricier, has outdoor treatment rooms.

I have stayed at the Waldorf twice and have stayed in the Wyndham BC time share building 6 next to the Grand.

I toured several types of rooms at the Grand. They are nice but not at the level of the Waldorf. The linens, the furnishings and other amenities are more upscale.

Access to very nice pools at both, including the lazy rivers at the BC time share for the Grand and the lazy river at the Hilton BC a lovely short walk from the Waldorf.

Servicing the room is great at the Waldorf- twice a day, turndowns in the evening. If you upgrade to a suite you will be very happy.Order room service at least once if you do the Waldorf, it is again pricey but worth it in my opinion.

Both are convenient to Disney obviously. If it were just my husband and my self, I would go with Waldorf. If I were taking my family, it would be the Grand. The Waldorf has a more adult feel, although I have seen children there. Different vibe. The pool at the Grand is more oriented toward children.

My in laws stayed at the Waldorf a few years ago and they loved it! Be sure to ask for the Disney View if you do. Out of the two, I think that's the one I would choose.

ps, I only wish my DH would plan something like that for me. Maybe one of these days.

Thank you for your comments ... I agree ... The Waldorf Astoria it is!! "Silly me" ... that is where I wanted to go anyway! Just made the change and now I just have to start counting the days till we get there!!
