I'm getting a bit impatient waiting for Baby Bee to arrive, so am passing the time researching our next WDW trip.

The Wyndham Bonnet Creek has really caught my attention, prices seem amazing for what you get, and we went past it lots when staying at the Boardwalk, so I know it's easy peasy to get to (I'm keen to rent a car next trip anyway) and for the space you get compared to Disney for the same amount of money I'm really tempted to give it a try.

Would love to hear from any of you who've stayed there - or if you have any TRs, photos etc. :)

Do they still have transport like the disney resorts?
No - that's the downside. There's a shuttle but it's just this month become a paid service, and you don't get EMH, so those are the downsides.

Going to charge $5 per person for each round trip on their shuttles! Thats alot

I know - it's insane. I think one of us will get an AP for the free parking and other discounts if we do decide on WBC.

How long does it realistically take to get back from each of the parks to WBC for a mid day rest for our kids? One of the main arguments from those who advocate staying on site, is that it's way too far and takes a long time to get back to your off site resort for breaks or at the end of the day. It seems to me, that some DW resorts themselves can be pretty far from other parks. AK for example.

Also, I just read a disgusting bed bug story at WBC that has given me the skeeves. Is there anyway to contact the resort and let them know that it's been posted on Disboards that they have bedbugs and ask what they are doing to rectify the situation? It seems that they handled the situation quite incorrectly in the story on here and the family took bedbugs home with them. I am itching thinking about it.

We are booked at WBC September 21 to 29 but now I am having some nervousness.

I have stayed here 4 times and will be staying another 22 nights from 22nd July. Needless to say we think its fantastic. We have stayed at Saratoga Springs 3 times but I prefer it here. The rooms are huge, far bigger than Disney DVC resorts. We can get a 2 bed for about a third of the cost of a one bed at SSR, . We would have to spend about £3000 on food to make the free dining worth it.
The resort has 5 great pools, 2 lazy rivers, 2 slides. I like it because all the pools are close to each other so you can just walk to each even if just in your swimming costime.
I have never seen the pool areas very busy and certainly never seen it where all the beds are taken.
They have lots of activities, pool parties every day, bingo, music, dancing, quizzes. There is always one pool where there is nothing going on so you can always find somewhere quiet. The cabanas are $50 although I have never gotten one as never busy.
You can usue the pool at the new hotel which also has lots of restaurants.
You are very close to the parks, literally 4 minutes from Hollywood Studio's. Its a great location. There is a bus service but they are now charging $5 per person per round trip. I would say that you really do need a car, however I thought the bus service was excellent so if you are there just for the parks then it would be ok.

In all the time I have spent there I have never heard another English accent which I am always surprised about. Not sure why it hasn't caught on. We found it by chance really, always noticed the Bonnet Creek sign and wondered what is was so looked it up when we got home and haven't looked back.
We have paid between $100 and $140 a night depending on the time of year and how far inadvance we book. Always booked through
www.vacationupgrades.com who I highly recommend.

Do let me know if you have any questions.

I have never seen a bed bug here. I think that story has been overblown somewhat. I have never seen another story about it and if you check the bed bug registry you will see just how many hotels in Orlando have had reports. Anywhere can get bedbugs, i really wouldn't worry. Its a great resort, you will love it.

We've stayed here once hubby and son by himself and on all of us.

Parking can be a real issue here, it took us so long sometimes, we stayed in a 3 bed presidential which was nice, but not huge, to be honest there was nothing wrong I just didnt like it as much as other places weve stayed at.....it was so big and all the tall separate buildings made it feel like less of a resort iykwim, the pools are shaded a lot which is nice if its very hot but not so if you go in oct like we did, and pools were not heated or didn't feel very warm, maybe the one of year though, but ive never been in a colder pool in Orlando.

We've styled in a few timeshare type resorts, to be honest i know people rave about this but I'm not sure I'd go back.

It's nice and close to DDT though, right next door to there own resorts on property.

We stayed here last year for one week out of the holiday and I'm sorry to say we wouldn't return. In fact we left a day early.

It's a beautiful resort from the outside, and very reasonable, but that's where it ends for us.

The 2 main issues we had with it were the incessant attempts to get you to buy a timeshare at 7.50am every morning, the disingenuous attempts to make you attend a timeshare talk in order to get a parking pass, and the most horrible smell (don't know whether it was rubbish bins or sewerage?) in the corridors and at times in the apartment. It did not feel clean inside, either.

Offsite, Hilton grand vacations and sheraton vistana were so much better IMO.

Sorry to hear you didn't have great experiences.
I have never bothered getting a parking pass as you don't need one. You can use your key to get through the barrier. If you do get one they will try and get you to go to a timeshare talk which I would never do. I have never been hassled to go to one.
Never had a problem parking. We have stayed in the main building 3 times and tower 4 once so always parked by reception. Not sure what the parking places are like by other buildings.
As we are there on July/August, I love that you can always find shade by atleast one of the pools. That was my issue last time I stayed at SSR in August. The pools were way too warm so you couldn't cool down and the newest pool had absolutely no shade, it was unbearable.
I completely understand how BC wouldn't be for everyone as it is pretty big. My best friends and her family came last year for 2 weeks and I was terrified they wouldn't like it but thankfully they loved it. Even cancelled 2 of their 3 nights they had booked at Hard Rock so they could stay longer.
