Hello, everyone!

I am planning for my Disney World trip this coming September. I know it's still early to be planning what to pack but it's what I do, overplan! :)

I know it will be hot and it can be hit or miss with the rain so I've got ponchos in my packing list. But we have reservations at a few signature restaurants - Jiko, Flying Fish, California Grill, Boathouse - 2 out of the 4 are on park days. The other two we will be going from our resort so I can dress up a little more with out worries about hot, sweaty park days.

For parks, Like most people, I like to dress comfortable and sporty but on the days where we have the signature dining reservations, I'd like to take it up a notch. Keep it comfortable but a little more elegant. How casual is too casual?

What would you wear?

Thanks in advance!

when on vacation I refuse to wear anything 'dressy' or 'work appropriate'. I do enough of that year round. LOL. If you want to turn it up a notch from jean shorts/t-shirts, maybe pack a skirt with a light weight golf or pullover shirt -- or a skater style dress.

If you can possibly squeeze a trip back to the resort before dinner, you will feel better, but if you can’t. I would take some baby wipes for a quick wipe down and a clean shirt in your backpack.

We've gone in August for the past 7 years and will go again this year. I always wear a sundress and sandals and DS wears khaki shorts with a nice t-shirt or polo (he'll do the polo if we are doing a resort signature). For the in-park signatures, I really wouldn't worry about what you are wearing. They understand people are touring the parks and you will be fine in whatever you are wearing that day.

We have eaten at all of your choices except Boathouse and we just wear what we wear to the parks. Normally if it's hotter than heck, I wear sundresses so that solves the problem there. Even if I'm wearing shorts or a skort, I don't wear graphic tees, I do wear plain tees but they are fine. Usually on hot days we take an afternoon break and go back to the resort and spend some time at the pool (and pool bar) so we just change into a little fresher clothes to go back to the parks. My son will put on a collared shirt with his shorts instead of a t-shirt but that's it.

I think they should bag the dress code. Few follow it anyway. Except us of course.......:P

As others have said, largely anything goes WRT clothing choices even at signatures. My favorite is still the woman wearing her tutu and race shirt from the Princess half marathon at Artist Point approximately 10 hours after the race was over :-)

That said, when we've gone from parks to signature I usually wear a nicer pair of shorts and carry a nice top in a bag to change into before dinner. Ditto on my hubby who will go form a t-shirt to a polo shirt. Definitely not necessary, but makes me feel more comfortable.

I wear the same type of clothing whether vacationing domestically or in other parts of the world, whether an office meeting or one in a restaurant; simplifies my life. A solid tee shirt dress (maxi or midi) is my current "uniform". When my surroundings are more casual I wear it with leggings and a pair of sneaker mules. Dressier version is the same style dress with statement jewelry and cork wedge heeled sandals. I tend to pack several of these dresses in different colours and lengths but still have more accessories than clothing.Space left in my suitcase (21" or 23" spinner) to pack my toiletry bag which is definitely macro.

The man wears a polo or Tommy Bahama type shirt and dress cargo shorts (he can't live w/o pockets) for resort causal wear at signature restaurants.
He own jeans, I don't at least not to travel with.

If your signature dining is in the parks, I wear my park attire. If its at a resort, we usually try and go back to our resort, clean up a little and put on business casual type clothes. You will see everything from dressy to shorts and t-shirts.

If it is in the park I wear park attire, but nothing ripped and I don't do tank tops on those days. If it is a DS or resort location then I go and freshen up and dress a little nicer. I think that the only exception would be brunch at California Grill. I think that since it is brunch and you may or may not go to the park after then something a bit more relaxed is fine. You will see everything from dressy to casual at all of them, so whatever you are comfortable with.

I know it's different for guys, but I like to stuff a comfy flowing sundress or maxidress in my backpack and some cute flip flips that have enough touches to look like nice sandals if we have a signature meal on a park day. It doesn't take up much space in the pack, in most cases- it won't wrinkle, and while it may not be the best for walking around all day...it's nice and airy for any evening plans after dinner.
