I love all things DISney.... but - to face the possibility of having to remain on board for 2 to three weeks until all have tested negative to the the beer virus= OUCH!!
(Guess this means we all need to save up on our work vacation time to factor in being quarantined while on vacation eh??)

I really have a hard time understanding your posts.
Let me see if I understand you correctly: There is someone on your cruise to Italy, 6 months from now, who has a weak immune system.
Are you afraid of her catching Covid-19 or are you afraid that if she is catching it then you will be catching it as well?

If this is what you are trying to say, then yes, you are overreacting.
1. There will be dozens of people with weak immune systems on each cruise. The difference is, you know there is at least one. It's their choice to take the risk, they know the consequences better than anyone else.
2. 6 months is a really long time in this case as the situation is changing per day.
3. You shouldn't be scared of her. You should be scared of those who are healthy and will only get mild symptoms, as they can probably be without fever before boarding the cruise and get through the medical check. The chances of her getting through a check are much smaller. The healthy people are much more likely to bring Covid-19 on board than anyone else.

I gather your concern is that as your friend is comprimised she might board as a postive and then while on this ship get ship.. therefore causing travel disruption??

This could happen to half the cruise ship as the average age of cruisers is higher and many fall in that concern zone.

By time your sailing happens, it will be more a global problem. so that fact its ITALY plays no role here. The way the US numbers are growing, it could be others put travel bans out agains the US.

We have a similar case in our family.. my mom's BF' niece has much older BF (70) and her father (BF's brother) was recently weeks in the hospital for kidney issues. He has a doner kidney etc he is 75..... major issues.. now goiong to re-hab. Well his DD and BF decide to continue their planned trip to Norhter Italy!!!! (we live a 5 hour drive from there)Now they just closed off today that area, but we are not sure if that include their vacation spot ( northern Alpine Italy). This region has many postives.. My mom's BF is livid for her brother and concerned...

I normally dont get involved but I hold my mom's BF that they should notify the re-hab home if she decides to visit post trip.

I don't understand your post here or on the other thread you posted it on.

That being said, there will be potentially sick/contagious and immuno compromised people on every cruise. I'm sure there are going to be other people who feel the risk is worth the benefit for trips they have planned. It's a personal choice for everyone just like its your choice to decide if this virus makes you change your travel plans.

I refuse to judge people who decide it's an acceptable risk. I'm still unsure if/how this will impact my family's travel plans.

Overreacting. You can’t control what everyone/every passenger does. You don’t know if all of the passengers on your cruise washed their hands/didn’t touch their face/shook someone’s hand.

Plus, all the cruise lines are making adjustments to try to prevent this from happening in the future.

In my opinion, this will change cruising forever, the new rules will most likely stay and cruising will be even safer from now on.

Every cruise ship on every sailing is going to have someone on board with a weaken immune system.

This post is nearly impossible to read the way it is formatted. But I think your overreacting?

Funny you should mention as about 2 hours after your posting , I just canceled a business trip forsomeone from Quartar who country has travel bans very restrictive against the USA.
And to answer your question , Yes.

The planned trip to n Italy ? Respectfully speaking , I would not go - now is not the time .

Atleast that’s my .02-
To others , thank you for your opinions as well.

I'm confused too--it sounds like OP's cruise doesn't have a PIF until September... So isn't it a bit early to be concerned? There may not even be an Italy travel restriction by the time the cruise rolls around.

Many of the lines are changing their cruises to avoid Italy.

here is to tossing a few coin in the wishing well hoping this Child of Graces’ upcoming cruise to Italy gets changed .....

You can only do so much for people. Just make sure the person is aware of the possibilities, ie sickness, death, quarantine. It's like people who don't wear helmets when riding motorcycles. I think they are very welcome to do so. I wear one when I ride, but I don't want to be forced to do so. If you have no dependents, then does it really matter if you die, as long as you know it's a high probability? I am not going to engage in the greater good/cost of health care debate, because we haven't made McDonald's illegal yet. So don't even bother responding with such comments.
