Due to unusual circumstances I have two trips scheduled this winter to DLR. I already have 6 day parkhopper tickets (value of $251) for November. My dilemma is whether to convert those into annual passes for my January trip or to buy the Costco 4 day parkhoppers ($210 after gift card). The cost is virtually the same, even after figuring in the dining discounts with an AP. We are not big spenders in the parks as we share meals and do not buy souvenirs. The AP route would allow me to avoid the slower lines for 4 day+ PH, but the all PH route would give me an extra magic morning in January. Also I am not sure I want to be tempted/feel obligated to return for another DLR trip before the AP expired next fall. I have other places I want to travel, like WDW, Alaska & Hawaii. Am I crazy to not want the AP?

I think if the price is close to the same you are right to not bother.
You have given the best reasons not to.
The most important being a 3rd trip is not necessary but would be tempting if you had the AP.
However, it would definitely be better use the $ that would be used to visit other places.

I have to travel just about as far as you do ad I know it's not a cheap trip.
I think you are being very smart.

Sounds like if you want to take advantage of MM going with the two PH is better for you. If you did get the deluxe annual pass would any of your travel dates be blocked? I bought an annual pass for my last trip and came out slightly ahead because of hotel discount and discounts on food. Now I'm going back and don't have to buy a ticket for myself so that is money in the bank. Of course when I bought mine last year it was $379 instead of $469 so that made it a much easier decision.

Scoker, no dates would be blocked. Thanks, I forgot to mention that. Yeah, $379 sounds pretty attractive now, LOL.

Tanyaewa, thanks for your reassurance. Do you usually fly or drive from your area?
