So this may be an odd question, but my traveler and I love the social aspect of Disney. We have never been to Teppan Edo before, but would love to try it mainly because we would like to meet other guests and we have to get our weekly Japanese food fix in! :rotfl2:

So back to the question, we have to pick two: our choice between Teppan Edo, Coral Reef and San Angel Inn. Our problem is TE and SA both seem like great places to go for dinner, with TE probably more social at dinnertime?? :confused3 and with San Angel's atmosphere on the water. So what should we do...

a) San Angel lunch and Teppan Edo dinner (because Teppan's social atmosphere overrides San Angel's dining atmosphere)
b) Teppan Edo lunch and San Angel dinner (because Teppan's atmosphere isn't that social and San Angel's dinner atmosphere is great)
c) Coral Reef lunch and San Angel dinner
d) Coral Reef lunch and Teppan Edo dinner

Thanks sooo much everyone!! Can't wait for our trip!! :)

How about e - none of the above?

Seriously, Teppan Edo is great and you should do it. However the other two aren't so great. Instead of SAI, consider doing La Hacienda - the food and service is much better. Instead of CR, do anything else in Epcot. The only thing this restaurant offers is a great view into the tank. The food and service are poor.

If you go to San Angel you're going to feel like you are sitting with the folks next to you anyway.

San Angel isn't the one on the water; that's La Hacienda, which has my vote for the better Mexican restaurant on both food and service, though it lacks the uniqueness of San Angel's atmosphere. And since La Hacienda is only open for dinner the choice is easy - Teppan Edo lunch, La Hacienda dinner. :)

I voted C. princess: I can't help it- CR is always on my list to do...and San Angel too. Atmosphere brings me back to those two places...food quality brings me to others... But I think I fell in love with CR b/c it was one of my first adult Disney experiences. I think CR is worth it to try at least once.

I'm another "e"--we'd only do one TS meal a day. Teppan Edo seems like the best choice of these three restaurants for the "social" experience. If you're interested in talking to other guests while dining, I'd also recommend Biergarten, where everyone's seated at long, communal tables.

We have never been to San Angel, I have made ADRs there in the past but then cancel them because I would read such negative reviews about it. As for Teppan Edo and Coral Reef we really like these two restaurants. We are actually eating at both on our upcoming trip in January, however they are both going to be for dinner. Good luck and have a great time.

I voted "C." Japanese hibachi restaurants are a dime a dozen where I live, so I can get that atmosphere anytime at home. I want something a bit different at WDW..... JMHO....

Anyway, I know San Angel Inn gets a lot of bad reviews on this board, but we really enjoyed it. The atmosphere is awesome. I have never been to Coral Reef, but it would be really cool to sit next to the aquarium.

If I wanted to have the social aspect of dining, I would go to Biergarten, as a PP mentioned. I have heard it is quite good!
