I'm planning a trip to Disney in November and am loking for advice. We will be taking my DS5, DS3, and DD3. My DS5 and DD3 are both over 40" which means thay can ride most of the rides. My DS3, however, is just over 38", so it looks like he will be fairly limited in terms of the "big" rides. All three of them love thrill rides - ughhh!!! I am wondering if I should just have my DH tour with DS5 while I take DS3 & DD3 (and say something like "next year you'll be old enough to ride the big rides)....OR....should he take DS5 & DD3 while I take DS3 (and try to find something special for him to do)? Either way there wil be disappointment. All three of them have been watching the planning video non-stop and can't wait to get on the rides. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated! (BTW, my parents will be with us, so splitting up the children will not be an issue.)

i bought the hot wheels skate shoes for my 2 younger children.it worked out well. the shoes wiill give you about 1 inch and none of the 40 inch rides are dangerous.

I would tell the 3 year olds they arent old enough. If one is not tall enough, neither of them should ride. Find something for the two younger ones to do. My 3 year old knows that the big rides will still be waiting for him when he is old enough(and tall enough) to go on them.

I don't mean to be rude--but how do you know they aren't dangerous? They just don't randomly slap up a height restriction for no reason.

For my kids--I have all the height restrictions on our growth chart...DD6 just passed the space mountain mark. They know until they pass the stars for a particular ride--they just aren't tall enough.

I use this to encourage my kids to eat growing foods.

Who knows--the under 40" person may be tall enough in a few months. My girls will be short forever (stuck at one measurement) and then magically one day they will be a whole bunch taller. I would try that--if the child would "buy" that. Works like a dream for my kids and they aren't "sad" when they miss out on rides due to height. They understand that it just isn't their time and as long as we mix it up and do all the rides that they can go on in between.

When my DS5 would go on the rides that my DS3 couldn't go on, DS3 was VERY upset for the first couple of rides. After that he kinda got used to the idea that he was too short. I would try to take him in the gift shops or buy him something to eat or drink to help. He's a sugar addict already so that became more important to him than the ride.
