Your choices for 14 nights in the area with 10 park days are....
1.renting a double at the world($270 prepaid I believe)
2.renting a baby jogger city mini double from orlando stroller rentals(about $180 w/insurance for 14 nights)
3.buying a maclaren twin triumph for $199 with free shipping and selling it on ebay if you don't need it later

I would also like to know which stroller is best for larger kids and which is easiest to deal with on trams, has the best storage, etc. I would love to hear ALL opinions! Thanks!!!

With the disclaimer that I haven't been to WDW yet, I'd go with either option 2 or 3. I just can't see shelling out $270 on a Disney stroller rental.

I just placed an order with orlando stroller rentals for a city mini double jogger b/c my double jogger would take up most of our luggage space in the van.

You usually can't go wrong with a maclaren either though.

Have you looked into any of the stroller swaps? Just a thought...heck of a lot more affordable and same stroller! That's what we plan on doing in July for our trip.

I have a joovy caboose and I think they run about $150. It has a semi reclining seat in the front for the younger one and a jump seat and standing board in the back for an older kid. Its not the most comfortable stroller in the world, and if you think both of your kids will need to nap in the stroller than its not going to work for you. My oldest is 6, and almost never sits, but I know in dinsey she'll be in and out of it constantly. I find it really easy to manuever and its not huge folded up. Its got a storage basket underneath that I can easily shove a diaper bag or cooler bag in. It doesn't come with an adult cup holder but joovy makes a cup/holder storage bag that attaches for like $20. If there were a stoller swap available for when I was going I probably would have jumped on it, but there isn't so we'll be bringing ours. Its cheaper than any of your other options, and since you would own it, you can always sell it when you're done with it.

How old/big are the kids? If you don't need a double at home, I'd likely rent the Citi Mini. It's an awesome stroller. But, purchasing and selling is a great option as well. More of a pain, though. If you rent you don't have to cart it on the plane. If we didn't already have a mac double we would rent from Orlando Stroller Rental.

We purchased an inexpensive Graco stroller two years ago that is similar to the current Graco LiteRider. We bought it specificially to take on a trip to Disney World. At the time, our daughter was just under 2 years old. We have since used this stroller at Disneyland last summer, and again at Disney World this past December, and we plan to use it again when we go to WDW in September. Our daughter is somewhat petite--only about 32 pounds now--so this particular stroller is still sufficient for her. What I like about it is the storage basket underneath--so we can put items like extra clothing down below without worrying about it. It's also easy to fold and unfold quickly, which is great when getting on the WDW railroad, buses, or other transportation where you are required to fold up stroller. The model we got also came with a zip-on diaper bag that hung from the back, which was great when she was still in diapers, and works great now as a way to store sunscreen, handwipes, etc. It's also great to have a stroller when navigating through an airport, especially if you have to hurry between terminales when changing planes. The stroller was only about $70.00 when we bought it, and it was well worth it for us. If your child weighs more than 40 pounds, there are probably models that have a higher weight listing. We went to Target and Babies R Us and had our daughter try them out before we made our decision. Good luck!

i love love love orlando stroller rentals, that being said i did have a rental car last time so i did not have to deal with buses and honestly i hardly ever take a tram with a double i just find it easier to walk to the entrance. there was plenty of room for my 2yearold and 5 year old. depending on when you are going the only thing i thought it was missing was a rain cover. good luck. ps some one on these boards did a big review with pics of orlando stroller rentals it was a while ago but you might be able to find it in a search

For my last trip, I was evaluating the same alternatives for my 2 boys, DS3 and DS6. I wanted a double stroller and did not like the WDW rental ones (too uncomfortable and I wanted to take it back/forth from the hotel). I tried out several side/side umbrella stroller and loved the MacClaren. Unfortunately when I put both boys in it, it just felt too hard to push and turn with all their weight. So I knew I'd have to go with some kind of jogging type stroller for ease of pushing. I just stumbled onto the Orlando Stroller Rentals website and thought the stroller looked awesome. I loved the 2 front pivot wheels. I rented it and it was fabulous. I highly recommend it for older kids because it was so easy to push. Here is my review I wrote up that has some pictures too:

Is the 9 yr old going to be using the stroller?

I would go with the Maclaren and re-sell it after the trip. I wouldn't want to spend that kind of money just for rentals.

I talked to my cousin about how I didn't even get him a stroller when we went in 1999 and ran him ragged for days doing Universal and WDW. He said he wouldn't have ridden in it at 8 yrs old. So if you are planning on your 9 yr old riding in it you might want to check if she would even consider it.
