Here's the situation. I live two houses down from a main street and am probably on 150 feet away from it. Across that street is a small plaza with 4 stores. Up until a few months ago none of these businesses had been a problem. Then a hobby shop moved in. Now, nearly every evening and especially on weekends, they have races with large radio controlled cars. The noise is incredible and VERY annoying. Think of the world's loudest mosquito to get the effect.
The town this business is located in is NOT the town I live in. The dividing line between the two towns is that main street.
Things have progressed downward since that business moved in. First there was nothing, then they built a track next to the shop. It was fenced in and, although you could still hear the cars, it wasn't enough to set your teeth on edge. Then people started racing the cars in the parking lot at all hours. We've seen them race the cars right out into that busy street on at least 3 occasions. What are they thinking??
The latest thing is some sort of a portable track that they lay down in the parking lot. Yesterday there was a large group of people there and the guy running the event had a bull horn. It sounded like he was in my living room!
The police have been called on numerous occasions and not just by me. The owner of the mall also owns the parking lot and he doesn't want them there. However, let's just say that this group of people are intimidating.
So what would you do? Go to your local representative? Go to the other town's police/city departments. Buy ear plugs? No flames please. Just looking for some ideas on how to handle this. The way things are going, I'm afraid I'll wake up some day and find them constructing light towers so they can run those mosquitos until 1 a.m.
