My rental prices are nearly identical. Alamo for the car Dollar for the SUV
We are a party of 3 adults and two teens. Luggage will be 4 bags. I'm not familiar with how big a Ford Escape would be and don't know which would be better. Any input on comfort and or suitacase fitment would be appreciated.

I'll be honest w you I can't see 5 adults fitting in ford escape and being comfortable not factoring in luggage. Way back in 2010 we did it 3 adults and luggage and it was TIGHT.

The last 3 or 4 times we have rented a full size car from Alamo, there have been several SUV's in the full size aisle.
We tried an Chev Equinox once (OK but has a large blind spot), another time we took a Nissan Pathfinder (really liked this).
Neither vehicle has much room in the back seat though. There are 3 seatbelts but I would think it would be pretty tight back there with 3 people.
If your just driving around Orlando and WDW would probably be fine. Don't think I would want to drive down to The Keys that loaded up.
Also, there really isn't a lot of room behind the back seat for luggage. We had a couple of suitcases and 2 carry-ons and it was pretty much full. You could probably pile it higher to fit 3 or 4 suitcases and carry-ons but will likely block the back window

A Ford Escape is not really big enough for 5 for anything longer than a short trip. If you can get a new Pathfinder (I have one and 5 fit pretty well) a Chevy Traverse or a Ford Explorer you'll be much more comfortable than the Escape.

I agree, I have a Nissan Rogue which is the same as the Escape and we have fit 5 in with luggage but wouldn't want to do long journeys like that. Once you have ditched your luggage it will be fine. I can usually fit 2 large suitcases, 2 trolley cases and a bag in the back of mine.
