I was booked with my Cousin( seperate rooms but same meal adr's and party tickets ect) and she decided to rebook with her friend( her own room) without telling me nice eh? Our travel agent quit and our files were shuffled around. I went in to our TA a few times to make sure who ever was taking over knew what was happening and to make sure my trip was still ok( and a few other ?? about air travel). A TA last week asked who the extra names on the file where and why they were on my file. I told her she had changed dates/her trip and shouldn't be on the file( I might have used cancelled then rebooked with her friends) but I for sure stated I had no idea what her phone #(she moved) was and she hasn't talked to me in 2 months since she changed to go with her friend. Someone had cancelled her disney world portion of her trip on the 16th. My cousin blaimed me for cancelling it out on her. I'm guessing she told the new TA that too because the TA had to ask me about if I cancelled her trip. My cousin also put the down payment on my CC so it was repaid to my CC on the 16th. What bugs me the most is that the TA thinks I should put the $200 back on the card"in good faith" which would be fine since my cousin did give me money but my cousin owes me $600. My cousin sent a voice mail stating that I cancled the trip on her and my CC was refunded $200 US so that should be good enough and stop it with bugging her about the money( I had e-mailed her earlier that I needed my money)

Can I get in trouble law wise because her trip was cancled and the TA stated that the hotel was full for the time she booked for? I never said to cancel her new trip nor did I know until today that it did.

Maybe it was just miscommunication between you and the TA? Maybe when you told her your cousin cancelled and rebooked elsewhere someone there took it upon themselves to cancel your cousin's portion? Also, I'm not sure how old your cousing is, but is there some immaturiy involved here that may have caused her to creat this problem?:confused3 Not trying to offend, it's just a thought.

If my cousin owed me money theres no way I would be putting any more charges on my credit card for her. To do that I would need to be paid in full and getting the money she's charging up front.

At this point I'd let her figure out her trip on her own.

Wow! I'd be a bit miffed to say the least. If my cousin rebooked a trip without telling me she was moving to someone else's room, I would make sure that my portion was cancelled, I get my money back and then she's on her own. If that's the way she wants to operate, then so be it. But I'm also of the mindset that everything you do comes back to you and it seems that the cancellation of her trip should be a lesson to her.
Unfortunately, whatever money she owes you might be a "wash" so to speak. I certainly wouldn't lend/give her anymore after this though.

Can't imagine any law that was broken or could get you in trouble even if you had canceled her trip, on your credit card it is your right.

I would do whatever necessary to completely separate your reservations to ensure nothing more of hers is "in your file"

Also, sounds like the TA messed up something somewhere, but I haven't used a TA in about 100 years so not sure how their contracts etc. work.
