We are hopefully traveling to Disney at the end of August and I can not decide about the DDP. It will be 2 adults (me and my mom) and 2 kids (9 & 5 yr. olds) for 7 nights. These are the likely TS dining choices:

Kona - breakfast
Tusker House - character breakfast
CRT - lunch
Crystal Palace - lunch or dinner
LTT - dinner
Le Cellier or Coral Reef - dinner

With this line-up, would you get the plan. It's great for us for the dinners but not as good for the breakfasts (especially Kona, but DS8 really wants to go there). I've been trying to run numbers, but am getting so confused. Just curious about what others would do in this situation.:confused3

Ok, Just a quick look over. All meals are 2 Adults and 2 Children. Tips not included but you would pay either on or off the plan. Tax at the end.

Kona - breakfast A $20 C 7.50 Total $55
Tusker House - character breakfast A $19 C $11 Total $60
CRT - lunch $36 C $24 Total $120 Takes 2 credits each.
Crystal Palace - dinner $28 C $13 total $82
LTT - dinner $28 C $13 Total $82
Le Cellier or Coral Reef - dinner A $32 C $10 $84 on the average

Total $483 + About $32 in taxes. Grand total $515 with 7 snacks and 7 counter service per person to come. 28 snacks at $3 each $84.

Let's call it $600 for your TS meals and the snacks.

DDP
Cost is $76/day for both adults and $20/day for both kids. = $672

So if you can eat 7 counter service meals for 2 adults and 2 kids for $10 a day at Disney, you should eat and pay OOP. Otherwise the DDP is your best bet.

krmrr - Thank-you for the quick response! :) We can easily spend over $10 a day on counter service meals so it looks like the DDP could still be a good option for us. The fact that the kids plan is so cheap, but that they charge a fairly high amount for them at the character meals definitely works in our favor. And, there is something to be said for peace of mind while on vacation.
