I just went down to use the laundry facilities at my house. There are 5 apartments here and we have 2 washer's and 2 dryers.

Nothing was in the washers so I threw my stuff in. DD9 opened the dryers and there is stuff in them.

Do I go door to door to see whose stuff it is, or just toss it in the baskets that are sitting on the dryers????

Put it in the baskets. No harm done.

I agree, just put it in the baskets. I used to have to do that when I lived in an apartment building. But I also used to set the timer in my apartment to got down and get my own laundry out of the machine as soon as it was done!

Put it in the baskets. They're lucky they left baskets there, otherwise I'd be telling you to heap it on top of the dryer.

we have 2 washers and dryers for a floor, so this happens often around here. i will wait for 10-20 minutes, then if no one claims them, i take them out and put them on top of the dryers.

If the stuff is still in the dryers when your wash is done, I'd put it in the baskets.

But until you actually need the dryers, I'd leave their stuff there. They may come back for it.

I agree. If they have been unclaimed long enough for you to run a load through the wash, they're fair game for moving.

On our vacation, I even moved clothes out of a dryer that were still damp and needed more time. They had sat there already out of time since before I went in to start doing my wash. The person didn't come back to check them until my clothes had spent 40 minutes in the dryer and I was folding!

That's what I do too. I hate that though! I'm always ready for a confrontation...

me too! i really hate doing it. plus, most of the people that live on our floor do not speak english, so i could only imagine what might happen if they came in and saw me taking their laundry out. :earboy2:
