We have 2 Villas booked for Dec 2-7 with a 3rd booked for one night only, in the hopes that a WL would come through and complete the stay.

Some members of our party are now unable to go, due to health concerns and we don't need that 3rd room and have since cancelled the WL. It was booked with borrowed points which can not be returned to their March UY and there's no way we'd use them by the end of February 2012.

So, I have one night. Should I just cancel and eat the points (which we're ok with; maybe it would fill someone's WL!) or try to rent out the ressie in the event I could recoup something?

Others are certainly more knowledgeable, but I am quite sure this would work:

Were either of the other villas booked with regular 2011 points (not borrowed)? Assuming the points were all from the same home resort, I believe member services can take those borrowed points from the reservation you would cancel and apply them to one of your other reservations, releasing current 2011 use year points. You could then bank those 2011 points into 2012, but of course with a March use year, you would need to do this by end of October.

Agreed. I'd ask about having the borrowed points reallocated to the other reservation if any current points were used for it. Then bank those points if your UY makes that possible.

Just called MS and they did this! So glad I asked the question.

And the 15 points were a combination of home resorts so they just reallocated and returned them to our March 2012 UY.

YAY for DVC!!!
