We just sent our request for a marriage application from the Brevard County clerk yesterday. Brevard County will process your application by mail at no additional processing fee. I think that the fee is $98.

Have you got the link to that please?

This may be a dumb question - but can brides from Canada get the mail in lisences as welll? Or would I have to go to the courthouse?

What am I missing?

I've looked at the Brevard County marriage license information and I am not seeing how you can do the whole thing through the mail. I see that you can start the process by filling out their online form, but then it says

"At any time after the couple has submitted their vital information via the template, the couple can come into any of the Brevard County Clerk of Courts’ five branch offices to complete the application process. All parties must be present with a picture identification card, the application number from the marriage license kiosk, and the applicable marriage license fee to complete the process."

How can you do it all through the mail?

Here you go Chilly: http://199.241.8.125/index.cfm?FuseAction=MarriageLicenses.Forms

Have a look at the Mail Away form - it explains the process.

One thing I did find out about, you need it signed by a notary and they charge anything up (an over) £100. Brevard also warned me about the 60 validity for the license. If you don't time it right it will either be too early and expire or too late and not be valid.

We've decided to go to the courthouse at Kissimmee to get ours.

I don't know if this applies to non-US resident people, but you shouldn't pay anything for a notary. If you go to your local bank, they will notarize stuff for free. You just need to have a checking or savings account there.
