WWoS new cheer and dance complex details?

Does anyone have photos or information on the new cheer & dance venue (sorry, "multi-sport complex") at WWoS? I've heard it is opening for UCA college nationals in January.

I've heard it is opening for UCA college nationals in January.

That would be AWESOME-we are headed down for that as part of our WDW vacation!

The website lists HP Field House and "Arena North" and "Arena South" as the venues.

I'm "guessing" that "Arena North" and "Arena South" refer to the 2 HUGE "tents" that they sometimes use for Cheer/Dance comps,but hopefully I'm wrong and it refers to THE NEW ARENA!!!!

Getting mixed signals regarding the opening. The new facility is shown on the latest WWOS Complex map and when I walked by it recently, it appeared to be very close to being ready to open. And I've been told by reliable sources that it is opening soon, but no exact date. What's making me have second thoughts is the wording in the previous post. No where does it mention "The Arena at ESPN Wide World of Sports" as one of the venues, which is the name of the new venue.

After more "research",I have come to the conclusion that portions of the UCA College Nationals next week WILL be held in "The Arena at ESPN Wide World of Sports" and mark the debut of this awesome Venue!

I concluded that because "Northwest Pavilion" is listed on the Competition Order list and "Northwest Pavilion" is part of the new Arena!

Can't wait to see this amazing new Venue this weekend!

It has to be so exciting for the Collegians who will be the FIRST competitors ever in this new Venue!

I think you'll be impressed. Just like all of the other venues at WWoS, it's very impressive. It's huge.

The new Arena is really nice.

I can't wait to see it when it is not "partitioned" into 2 "arenas".

It has some nice little "touches" like drink holders in the seat armrests,etc..

I like the self-service fountain drink stations also.

And the Concessions are really impressive with Chicken and Waffle Sandwiches,Cuban Sandwiches,Donut Breaded Chicken Nuggets,etc.

I'm sure the opening of the new Arena means World ShowPlace has been "retired" as a Dance Venue-it served the purpose,but The Arena is the "real deal".

Can't wait to head back later today for Finals!

congrats on getting to finals! We were there yesterday for semi finals - loved the new arena, very nice!!
