WWOHP Expansion Talk Take 2

About a month ago I posted this from the Save Pleasure Island blog on the internet:

The plans have already been drawn and interestingly, the very same company has also already drawn the plans for the Wizarding World of Harry Potter expansion at Islands of Adventure!

Now comes this from Mugglenet.com (link http://www.mugglenet.com/app/news/show/3739)
basically saying a tour guide says that Lost Continent will be gone in 2-3 yrs and that "Universal has an agreement with Warner Bros. insisting on new additions to the Wizarding World in two to three years."

They suggest Summer 2012, which means construction would have to start by January I assume. Should be interesting to see if any plans are leaked in the near future. I am sure we will hear more, but I think most of us already know that this is a done deal. Goodbye Lost Continent!

No arguments here and I agree that the LC's days are numbered. I can't wait to see what's next for WWoHP.

An article appeared in the Sentinel a while back and said the contract stated Universal had to keep updating the area with new attractions that tied into the movies. The timeline of 18 months was mentioned.

My son is so upset over losing the theming of LC. He understands why it has to go but it is very well themed so it is rather sad. I get it because I was crushed when they tore down Enchanted Oak.

I would imagine that Mythos will go or at least be heavily redone.

I've already lost my favorite US restaurant in the Enchanted Oak Tavern. Losing Mythos also would be really hard to take.

If LC goes, I believe that Mythos, as we know it, will be gone too. Not sure how it can remain in its current state.

Maybe they would remove the Arabia section of LC and keep the Altantis Ruins part.. while it is a smaller area.. they do have room for new shops and a show. This would give them an expansion, albeit a smaller one and still allow Mytho's to stay. As well as Poseidon's Fury.

I love Poseidon's Fury and would hate to see it go. Maybe they could fix the water tunnel effect and "retheme" the attraction to the merpeople in the Hogwart's lake?

Sometime between the time they announced HP and before it opened I heard rumors that all of HP would be built in sections,one thing I remember hearing about this is that there would be another major attraction built in the area where Sinbad is at as well as some of the area behind it located outside the park.I liked the Lost Continent but now that it's pretty much gone,go ahead and just do away with the rest of it and build some new Potter stuff.

That would work. The whole area going into WWoHP just doesn't work right now. Getting rid of all that, and Sinbad and making it a Forbidden forest with another ride and interactive area would be great.

IOA really needs another not wet ride. On a day when you don't want to get wet, there isn't a lot to fill the day. I think replacing Sinbad and also putting something in the Triceratops Encounter is would complete the park nicely.
