If we are planning on the last week of July or first wk of Aug and wanted to ride FJ and the dragon coaster over in WWHP would it be smart to start there when the park opens? We are not staying on property. We were thinking bout doing those two rides first and then coming back later in the evening to look around and explore after we have done the other major stuff in the park. I have read that it usually is less crowded later in the evening. Is that true?

It could be very busy when you visit so I would definitely start at WWoHP. I would do a little exploring too because it seems to be hit or miss as to how crowded it might be in the evening.

We were there last year in early August and the lines for FJ were usually at 90 minutes plus even in the evening. Ollivanders was always crowded too and the problem with it was that much of the line is outside and it was hot. We never saw long lines for the coasters but it could be difficult at times to get back into the WWoHP. We always got back in at night but the crowds were still big even if not as big.

By the way, WWoHP is definitely magical at night. It's fun to hunt for the little details.

Start with Ollianders, go to FJ regular line, then do single rider line :), Dragons never had much of a line when we were there over spring break. Then wander the town until it becomes too crowded.

Definitely head back after 6. We were able to do it all again multiple times in the evening.

Also, we had great luck in HP in the rain.

Dragons never has a wait more then 30 minutes. I'm an annual passholder and have been there multiple times during busy seasons. The most I've ever seen is 45, while Ollivander's, the shop/experience I've seen get up to 2 hours.

IoA emptys out pretty well after 7/8. Good time to enjoy everything. Plus that section of the park looks AMAZING after dark. It is so beautiful.
