WW Weekly Weigh In--- Part 2

that's crazy!! I wonder why she couldn't sign you up for the monthly pass right there in the center????? What area (of the country) are you in? In my area (MA) we can sign up for the monthly pass right there and it's the same price as online ($39.95)

I'm in PA. I have no idea what the problem was. :confused3

So, my big first day at WW was kind of a bust. The very nice receptionist basically talked me out of joining :rotfl2:! Actually, she was being very kind and told me about the one month pass (whatever it's called) that you can buy online and explained how it is a much better deal. So she sent me home to register (I couldn't use their computer to sign up for some reason) and then I'm supposed to come back with my pass. Kind of a downer after I was all in high gear to begin today, but it was very nice of her. So I guess I'll try my best to monitor myself this week and then go for it again next week!

Did she offer to have you try the meeting out for free? I think there had to be some sort of mistake, they are actively trying to have people join.....sending one home? Crazy!

I weighed in this morning. I'm down 3.4 for the week. A total four week loss of 13.6 pounds. :cheer2:

She said I could have stayed for the meeting, but she couldn't give me any materials or weigh me in. I purposefully arrived early so I decided not to stick around for the meeting to start for no real purpose (about 40 minutes).

Good afternoon everyone! I just rejoined WW last week. It's my 3rd or 4th attempt at it. I always "fall off the wagon" or worse yet cancel when I am going on vacation because I don't want to pay for WW while I'm gone. That's what happened last time. I canceled and I never rejoined. I am now "officially" obese and not just "overweight" and I gained 15 pounds in 2 months after I quit the last time. No change in food/excersise/nothing. My doctor tested for thyroid problems, but everything was OK. I think it was due to perimenopause as I'm 48 years old.

I am doing the Monthly Pass with eTools. It's so much easier for me than keeping track on paper. Plus, there is a Mobile WW that I can access with my iPhone so there is no excuse not to journal no matter where I am.

My 2nd weigh in is today, so I'll come back and let you know how I did. I had a couple bumps in the road over the weekend. I need to PLAN my weekends better I think.

So ... my DH (who is also obese, 1" taller and about 40 lbs heavier than me) said to me today: "How about ribs tonight?" Is he insane?!?! I said: "You could not have picked a fattier, greasier food if you tried! No, we can't have ribs tonight!" I don't know what we're having tonight ... I need to page through the grocery store ads and make a meal plan for the next few days.

HI, i have been reading some posts on here, i thought i would post and see how it goes....i JUST joined WW yesterday (newbie much?!) through my company, we have express meetings once a week, which is really nice otherwise id be too lazy to go anywhere i think. Some people think im crazy to be doing this because they dont see me overweight at all, but im very uncomfortable with how i am, and thats what im trying to change. I am getting married next september, and heading to disney for the HM (YEY) so my goal is to loose 23lbs by next july 1. i know that doesnt seem like alot, but if you saw how picky of an eater i was ( i only eat crappy food) you would see how muhc of a challenge this will be, also i do have a thyroid issue so im on medication for that so thats always an up and down challenge. DF is also somewhat doing this with me (although he has complained a million times in 2 days) im hoping to be able to join this board, bc , although im doing it through work, im not close with anyone who is in our groups, so i think it will be nice to have a chat area to go to to see motiviation from others! Well thats all for now, good luck to all this week!

Hi Robin! Remember me? Your DD is growing so fast, like mine, and she's such a doll! Great pic! :thumbsup2
I think it was due to perimenopause as I'm 48 years old.
I am 46 and since that dreadful BD I have been unable to lose more than 5 lbs total - since October! :sad1: Periods/spotting every 2 weeks, water weight, bloating, that I never experienced before! It has HALTED my weight loss entirely, despite trying Jenny Craig for 8 weeks and now back with WW online. My body just DOES NOT want to cooperate! I hope we can BOTH overcome this 'period' of our lives! ;)

WI yesterday....down 0.9lbs. Not a big number but a number. I am so close to my 1st goal of being under 200lb by my Sept trip, maybe next week. I'm getting a pedicure when I reach this goal, and I need it with all this walking and biking I have been doing this past 6 weeks. Hoping everyone has a great week!

I was late weighing in this week. Couldn't get by there Monday so I went yesterday. Down 2 lbs! :cheer2: :cheer2:

I was so excited because I was afraid I had gained--2 baby showers (one of which was a cook out), lots of stress and a trip with some preteen girls to the movies (love that movie popcorn) had me worried.

I started swimming for my exercise on Monday. I like to walk but when its still 95 degrees out at 5 pm, its just way too hot; so now I swim for 30 minutes. dd loves it because i promised if she will let me swim laps for 30 minutes then I will play in the pool with her for another 30 (gets me an extra 30 minutes of activity too!)

I'd love to join this thread. I have been on WW since September and lost 20 pounds. I'm hoping to lose 30 more. Weigh-in was yesterday and I lost almost 1 pound. I'll take it. It wasn't a great week, so I was just happy not to have gained anything.

How could I forget a fellow Cubs fan? This perimenopause is the pits in so many ways. Getting tubbier is just ONE of them :headache:. I know that you can shake your body out of it! Maybe you need to go back to meetings? You seem so close to regaining that 75-pound clippie ... but remember to be proud of the 72 already lost :thumbsup2.

So ... I went to my second meeting yesterday at a different location. I signed up at the community center on Mondays next to where my DD practices on swim team and the times overlap. I was OK with the leader and the group was a younger working woman crowd. But, my DD didn't swim this week since she's at overnight horse camp (*wah* I miss her so much!) *and* I had a bad, bad weekend so I put it off until Wednesday morning. The Wednesday morning meeting is led by a really good leader who I remember from my last time on WW, but the group was a bit old ladyish. I do realize at 48 I am no spring chicken, LOL! Maybe I'll try the Wednesday noon meeting with the same leader ... I'm sure there are more working women there.

I get on the scale and I lost 4.2 lbs in my first 9 days! :cool1:

This weeks meeting was about breakfast. I assume that all WW meetings are the same around the country. My leader put up a very nice recipe for a yougurt/berry/couscous parfait for breakfast and it sounded *really* good. But ... I didn't write it down since she attributed it to WW and I figured I could find it online. I can't! I'm gonna wing it this morning but if anyone knows the recipe can you post it?

Well, I went on line this morning to add last night's dinner to my tracker and discovered I was short about 5 points!!! This is what happens when you have a large, mostly veggie dinner. Had I tracked last night I could have then sampled the crab salad I made...on a one point muffin and gotten in some good eats...I was a little hungry when I went to bed. :rolleyes1

So today I'll be sure to use my points and maybe a couple from the weekly bank. I'll also be sure to have some snack type things to have during the day at work. I find if I have a light day, I could get in trouble the next day because of increased hunger levels. And I've made a mental note to be sure to consume some carbs (low point eng. muffin or pita) with those super low point salad entrees.

Off to make some breakfast and pack lunch....

ONWARD & DOWNWARD!

.

Thanks Robin but I never attended ONE meeting when I lost the initial 75. All online. :thumbsup2 I need exercise - besides running my DD around all the time! :rolleyes1

:cool1: :yay: WTG!!

Best WW WISHes to ALL!! :thumbsup2

I weighed in a day early, as I'm doing Relay for life tonight/tomorrow.

I'm down 5 pounds!! :cool1::cool1:

Happy Friday!

Congrats to all the losers:banana:

I am up 2lbs this week:eek: I gained it over the weekend and wasn't able to get if off. Since they switched off the analog I have been taking a walk during lunch (since I can't watch I Love Lucy) so I thought I would actually have a good week. I still did my evening exercise, but I am thinking I didn't workout as hard as I normally do. I am starting aqua aerobics on Monday so hopefully next week will be better. Granted all my weeks would be better if I wouldn't blow it on the weekends. Today I am headed to Disneyland to celebrate my best friends birthday, so I need to not go crazy.

Have a great weekend!!

Unfortunately, that does not count as "running", LOL! I am mid-way through a thing called Couch to 5K and I am now running 5 minute intervals. I plan on running a 5K in August or September.

So, you lost the 75 doing the online tools alone? Wow. That's really impressive. I need the accountability of weighing in at the meeting to keep me motivated.

I've been doing my posting on the DIS podcast cruise boards. There's a "shape up" thread there.

Over the last couple of weeks, I've managed to gain 2.4 lbs. and then last week, show a 2.8 lbs. loss. Tomorrow's my weigh in day, but as things stand, I'm still 41.6 lbs. down. We'll see how I do tomorrow. :rolleyes1

I've been pimping something I bought at Costco yesterday, since the people selling it were having a demo sample of their bison products. I tried their bison pastrami, and it was terrific! 80 calories and 2g fat per 3 oz = 2 points! I used my WW scale to measure the proper portion, and it was a lot of meat! If you can find this stuff at your Costco, buy it. Yum.

Glad to see positive reports. I did everything I was supposed to last week: used my points, exercised, kept track of all my food, drank my water, took my vitamin, etc. I GAINED 3.5 pounds. It isn't my time of the month, I didn't gain it in muscle, or any other reason. Can you tell I am frustrated??

Did you eat a lot of processed foods? Or foods high in salt? Also even if it is not that time of the month, sometimes your body starts to hold water for a week before....

It's 90 degrees today here at Disney... sure makes it easy to get the water in LOL
