I recently joined WW, and I know one of the great things about the program is you don't have/need to count calories. I have the WW Mobile app on my iPhone, but I also have mynetdiary app too. Out of curiosity, today I recorded everything I ate on my WW plan (I'm 27 points daily) on mynetdiary, and I've only eaten 993 calories for the day. I'm not hungry or anything, but I was just really surprised that it wasn't more calories!! :upsidedow

All the zero point fruits and veg have calories too -- so they factor into the daily calorie count also, even tho they don't contribute to ppvs.

I was under the impression that 1 WW point equals about 50 calories.

On Points Plus, it factors to closer to 1 point is 40 calories, but you get more points (typically a minimum of 26 instead of 19), and fruits and veggies aren't counted. Since the points to calories aren't exact, it's very easy to eat things without much fiber and have a total calorie intake of less than 1000 before fruits and veggies, and you should be eating 3-5 servings of these each and every day. If you figure an apple has 100 calories, that's what brings you to the 1300-1500 calorie mark that probably seems more reasonable. Hopefully that makes sense! :)

Very much so!! Thank you! :)

Just as an example of the point scale vs calories. I have a recipe for a tuna sandwich.

1 Sara Lee Thin Bun = 100 calories
1 serving Tuna = 60 calories
2 tablespoons Miracle Whip Lite Mayo = 50 calories
1 tablespoon Mt. Olive sugar-free sweet relish = 0 calories (though I know it has to be something!!)

Total calories = 210 calories
Total WW points using Recipe Builder = 8

210/8 = 26.25 calories per point
