Just got this in my mail...forwarned is fore-armed...

PLEASE READ!!!

During the next several weeks be VERY cautious about opening or launching
any e-mails that refer to the World Trade Center or 9/11 in any way,
regardless of who sent it.

FOR THOSE WHO DON'T KNOW, "WTC" STANDS FOR THEWORLD TRADE CENTER. REALLY
DANGEROUS BECAUSE PEOPLE WILL OPEN IT RIGHT AWAY, THINKING ! ITS A STORY
RELATING TO 9/11!

BIGGGG TROUBLE !!!! DO NOT OPEN "WTC Survivor " It is a virus that will
erase your whole "C" drive.. It will come to you in the form of an E-Mail
from a familiar person. I repeat, a friend sent it to me, but called and
warned me before I opened it. He was not so lucky and now he can't even
start his computer!

Forward this to everyone in your address book. I would rather receive this
25 times than not at all. So, if you receive an email called "WTC
Survivor",do not open it. Delete it right away! This virus removes all
dynamic link libraries (all files) from your computer.

I hate to say it, but this really should NOT be forwarded to anyone.

"Spam" mail is designed to propagate itself by any means possible.

This "spread me as a friendly warning" trick is well spread and all too common. By forwarding it you are simply adding yet another fw message to your friends inboxes.

Don't forward this and never obey ANY eMail that asks to be forwarded or sent on.

This one's an old one--and is a hoax. Thanks for keeping our best interest in mind though, by wanting to warn us. If you ever get an email about a computer virus--you should always do a quick google search about it, or head to one of the big anti-virus protection websites to find out if it is true. OP your intent was good, so thanks, but Rich is right. It's always good to hear about new viruses. Maybe a different way to handle it is to type out your own "NEW" email with a warning about this in your own words, rather than as a forward.

Just re-read my initial response and want to apologise if I came over kinda strong

I really wish hoaxers and hackers weren't so abundant; it's so sad that they find stuff like this funny or amusing.

Hoax or not, it was nice of you to share it with everyone...looking out for us.

I never open email that doesn't come from someone I recognize...and then half the time I don't open it, either.

Why? Ive never had a Mac, nor have I had a virus. Its all in the user.

A mac doesn't keep me from getting spam emails which is what that is. Now a eal virus....tat's why I love my mac!
