Written Confirmation

Just wondering if there is a new policy regarding reservation confirmation. Made ressies for room only at POP on 7-2-04 for 2-12-05. Called around the first of August to make dinner show ressies and told the CM that I haven't received a confirmation yet. She said she would make a note to guest relations.
I know it's a few months away, but mistakes do happen and I like to have things in writing. The last time we went (2-03) it seemed like we were getting letters from them evey couple of weeks.

P.S. I did get the trip planning package welcoming us back with the new things to do, but nothing specific to our ressie.

I always get confirmations. I have one for this trip and every time I call CRO about something like adding a fridge I get yet another confirmation. I now have 8 for this upcoming trip. So no, it isn't a new thing as you should be getting one.

We did not recieve the confirmation letter for our vacation this past July either.

The trip was book mid- June and as of mid-July we still did not have the confirmation letter. We did recieve a planner envelope that said where we were staying and had a planner section to write PS#s. We also recieved a letter from the resort "welcoming us". By recieving the other stuff, I knew that WDW knew we were coming, but the confirmation letter is part of the fun too. We didn't recieve our "package" with luggage tags, vouchers etc either. Finally I called WDW and spoke to a CM who asked a supervisor for advice and was told that the info would be Fed-Exed to me. It did take me 4 days to recieve the info(even though sent Fed-Ex) but I was so glad to have that confirmation information in my hands before our trip.

I would call to confirm your reservation and ask that a new confirmation letter be sent.

I received my first letter from Disney roughly about a week after I called to make my reservation. Then I called back to put down more money on my trip and received an up-to-date letter reflecting my initial deposit and the second payment that I made.

How can you change eight things about your ressie?

Just to see what would happen I went to the Disney web site and typed in my ressie confirmation number and the resort and dates of our stay came up with total $$ due. At least I know they have that, but I would still like something from them with our preferences. I think I'll wait till the storm blows over to call.

Before I tranferred my room only ressie to Dreams. I had to call Disney 4 times to get my conformation. The last time I told them I would cancel and go somewhere else on my vacation. Needless to say I got that one ASAP!

We booked AKL in June for late August and received no confirmation. Called back about three weeks later (in July) and switched to the Poly. Again no confirmation. Called back again in early August to make sure we had a reservation and told the CRO that we hadn't received a confirmation letter. Less than a week later we received a blue and white confirmation (not the yellow and red letter) for our late August stay. Not sure what is going on at WDW as every other time we booked we received a confirmation letter within a week.
