I keep one set of prints-not to be used in my scrapbooks-and I like to write info on the back of them. I used to use the photo safe pencils and hated writing with those so now I use a pen again. I've wondered if there is some sort of labeling system that you could print out and stick on the back of them. Anybody heard of anything like that? I'm trying really hard right now to get back into my scrapbooking and get caught up on all my pics-totally overwhelming-so I'm trying to find ways to be neater and better organized. Its amazing how hard it is to make yourself work on yours books when everything is total chaos, but when its organized, it seems like you can't stay away from them. Thanks again!

What type of albums do you put them in? I have some pocket albums that have a space to write in under the pictures I have bought these at Target.

I totally dislike the CM pencil I bought about 18 months ago. I bought it with the intention of writing on the back of photos. however, when I did my first mosaic earlier this year, I used the CM pencil. It smeared on lots of things - I was very disappointed
:(.

I write dates, sometimes names on the backs of photos with an ink pen. I try to write small and along the edge of the photo. I figure if I had to trim it off, it won't affect the picture.

Spinning-Right now I am keeping them in photo boxes because I have way too many to put in albums. I would have to devote one room of my house to albums. I know the ones you are talking about at Target though. They are nice with the little area beneath them to write. As a matter of fact both of my girls got a Disney one like that this summer and its really nice to see the writing below the picture.

The only other easy thing I can think of, get a small card and just use it as the divider and write on it what the pictures are . You could then put a coorsonding number on the photo to match the index card.
Or just buy an acid free pen and use that on the back. Good luck! I think sorting and organizing is the toughest
I have albums after albums....now I have scap books on top of that...I keep thinking the boxes would make more sense...

I put them in envelopes 4x6 stick out the top but it seems to work well for me and I write on the envelope lots of room . I store those in photo boxes until I am ready to scrap. Oh and if the one envelope is too small for one event I use more than one envelope and write on each envelope 1 of 4 and 2 of 4 so I don't miss any pictures. I put all of my doubles in a album so when the kids need pictures for school I dont have to tear apart my books. I had to do that once it was terrible.

My girlfriend always puts a label on the back of her picture with the date , and age of her children. One of her daughters is our goddaughter and it really helps to know when and where when she sends us pictures. She keeps a notebook with her all the time , and places the notes with her pictures , so that when she goes back later she has her journaling already done . If only I could be that organized.
