Well, there's an easy solution to that.A RF room key, Smartphone or some flavor of MB is required to be with you is not how I want to spend my vacation.

Sure it works if you pay for a MB these days. It was no issue when MBs were included in your resort day. Now you need to carry ID even to use the resort pool. Next they will need retinal or iris scanners to keep pools reserved for resort guests.

At SAB they recently have tried a newer wrist band that was environmentally friendly (material vs plastic) and required sharp scissors to get off. The TSA confiscates sharp scissors. It caused quite a stir with my granddaughter wanting it off.

That works until Someone decides to dip out to get a drink or snack and you're left waiting in the hallway in your wet bathing suit without even a phone to contact them.Easy someone is in the room.

What if everyone wants to go swimming? Or the person who doesn’t want to go swimming wants to go do something instead of sit in the room?Easy someone is in the room.

This is not a hypothetical situation this is how are our family enjoys SAB. Not everyone enjoys the heat at the pool after spending the morning in a park. What if everyone wants to go swimming? Or the person who doesn’t want to go swimming wants to go do something instead of sit in the room?
I’m pretty sure you’re unique in not wanting to have a key to your room and having someone always there to let you back in. It would not work for my family and we don’t have an issue having a room key or showing one to use the pool. I think it’s good to have restrictions to keep out those not staying thereThis is not a hypothetical situation this is how are our family enjoys SAB. If you want to solve a real problem figure out how to keep the pools reserved for guests of that specific resort without putting additional restrictions on the Guest.

Was about to ask the same thing!!!How would you get back into your room if you didn’t have a room key of some sort on you?
I'm surprised Poly doesn't have this yet. I know both pools require a Magicband/room key to enter, but often times there is a conga line of people entering/exiting, so it makes it super easy for non guests to sneak in. The Lava pool is already people soup but now imagine that some of the people in that soup are non guests.
I think they kind of did, solution being scanning your room key or MB. Not really sure what else they could do to limit access without a guest being somehow involved. Not great, but I'd rather have them scan my band or key than have a lot of non guests using the pools. I was at the WL one year and there was a group seated at one of the tables in the quiet pool area (that does require a MB or key card to enter). They were having a pool party for a child's birthday. I was eavesdropping because I noticed when they first arrived, one person kept getting up to let people in the gate. I heard her on her phone telling someone "just tell him you're here for lunch at Geyser Point, then once you get close to the pool, text me and I will let you in". Well, that peaked my interest so I kept listening. She worked for a third party vendor at Disney Springs and was telling her friends at the birthday party she brings her kids to the pools at Disney all the time, she just waits and follows someone in if it's a gated pool. I almost said something, but I didn't. Perhaps if someone did come around to scan wristbands, this wouldn't have happened. Even if they only did it on a random basis, word might get out and people would hesitate to do it. Especially if a job could be at risk (like in this situation, that woman could have faced discipline). And as far as removing a wristband, I always pack children's blunt nosed scissors, in my carry on, and they have never been confiscated. Helps cut of tags from t-shirts we may buy, moleskin, all sorts of uses! This is not a hypothetical situation this is how are our family enjoys SAB. And this is why we can't have nice things. It might be a pain in the neck for some resort guests to carry a phone, key card or MagicBand to the pool but if it keeps people who don't belong there out, I'm all for it and would like to see it implemented at all of the resorts.I was at the WL one year and there was a group seated at one of the tables in the quiet pool area (that does require a wristband to enter). No. No it is not. Anyone staying at pretty much any hotel anywhere has to routinely keep track of a way to get back into the hotel room. The idea that this is somehow some great burden on guests is just silly. It might be a pain in the neck for some resort guests to carry a phone, key card or MagicBand to the pool
That was my thought too. Every single hotel I've ever stayed at that had a pool required a keycard to enter. I'm confused as to how that's a burden? No. No it is not. I’m a woman but I always carry ID with me.
Same! Always carry an ID. I only buy workout leggings with pockets and I take my license and a credit card with me. For walking or the gym. At the gym I don’t bring any valuables in, even when using a locker, locks can and have been cut off. It’s all on me, in my pocket.I'm a woman, but carrying ID has nothing to do with that. A family friend was at a conference and went running during a break - he was not carrying ID. He had a heart attack while on his run and was taken to a hospital as a John Doe. No one there knew who he was. His wife was not getting an answer on his cell phone and reached out to some of his colleagues at the conference who were finally able to find out what had happaned and where he was. Thankfully he survived. I've had other friends have issues while running, biking, or just walking down the sidewalk. Ever since, I make sure when I go out for a walk or run, I stick my ID and my health insurance cards in my capris or in my sports belt so that at least the emergency workers will know my name in the event something happens.
