My "older" Aunt need an ECV for our trip...her knee has blown up and even if it goes down in time she doesnt want to take the chance.

I am researching ECV rentals BUT:

Does anyone know if the BLT studios have room for the ECV? Does anyone know WHERE the HA rooms are located?

Call MS now? What if they are all taken already....can we jam it into the room without damaging the walls? Columbus Day weekend peeps and I dont think there are any other rooms open anywhere......

Thanks........................... :(

(but I am sure we will still have a great time)

The only place it will fit in a studio is right in the "entryway" just inside the door and across from the bathroom door. If no one is using the sofa bed, she MIGHT be able to CAREFULLY edge it down the little hallway to the main room and park it in front of the sofa and shove the ottoman/table over by the "dining" table. If that bed is in use - nothing else will fit in the main room - people barely fit in there with the bed open.

We put our Owner's Lockers (2) and our luggage in that entryway, so I'm sure the ECV would fit there - but I'm not sure if there is an electrical outlet there to charge it. Hopefully someone else will chime in.

Unless she needs a roll in shower, there is no need for a handicapped unit. I'm guessing that's not the case, since she isn't going to take the ECV in the shower.;)

Whew....feel much better about it. I was concerned because I had read that there may not be room for the ECV in a studio.....since it will fit...not a problem.

Next question will be if there is an outlet right by the front door!

Thanks!!

I would post this on the disABILITIES board. You might get more response and there are lots of people there who have done this. FIL uses an ECV but we always stay at OKW where it is not a concern at all

There is an outlet around there somewhere because I set the ironing board up in the entranceway to iron.
