ok, so I have a long time to decide, but I need help on deciding which location is better. I need some amino to take to my dad and explain how I just can't live without my dream disney wedding. I really really want to stay at the beach club villas with all my bridesmaids in a suite (since its cheaper than a hotel suite, and so we can all be together) and since I want to stay there I was thinking of having the ceremony and reception at the YCG and then in a YC ballroom, but I really "must" have pictures at the grand Floridian and really would love some pics on the beach, stairs, and around the WP, but I am pretty sure it would be a big pain to drag my whole wedding party there either after the wedding or before just to get pictures. Then the past few days I have been looking at everyones pictures and really really want to just have my wedding at the WP and then reception in a ballroom. I guess what my questions are: how to convince my dad to go for the more expensive location, would I have to get transportation for everyone to the WP and can we all walk to the Grand Floridan?? How much of a pain would it be to go to the GF to get pictures? Ok thats it for now, thanks for everyones help, I don't know what I would do if I didn't find this board!!

My choice would be the WP for ceremony & Whitehall for reception.
It's within walking distance of WP and its a beautiful setting that offers many photographic opportunities.

thanks! do you know how many people that holds, we will be having about 125 people.

I just had my ceremony at WP and reception at the Yacht Club. Pictures were at the Grand Floridian and on the beach. It was no problem doing both and it was perfect :cloud9:

This is how you convince him: Only the Wedding Pavilion is completely weatherproof! If you use any of the outside locations, there's a chance you'll get rained out or windblown or sweaty! ;)

Did you have to provide transportation to the yacht club for all of your guests?? It seems like it is pretty hard to have a pre reception, plated dinner, and open bar for under 125 a person, so cost wise, (125 min for GF, 100 for YC), are the expenses more at GF or would it actually save me transportation money if I just have it at the GF??

Thats great! I am using this one for sure, thanks!

The outside locations are beautiful but if you are getting married during a warm month I would highly recommend the WP.

We just got married at SBP and it was 89 out. A bit high for April. There was no ventilation under my dress and I was dying! Many of my guests, particularly the guys wearing suits, looked uncomfortable!

I provided transportation only for the wedding party from the resort to the WP then to the YC. Cars were brought to YC earlier in the day. I only had one limo...here is the schedule we used
DH and Groomsmen picked up at ASMR at 3:15 to GF for pictures picked up after I was dropped off and taken to WP at 3:55
Me and Bridesmaids picked up ASMR 3:45 to GF taken to WP at 4:30

Limo with first group of 8 left WP after pictures to YC, Limo came back for remaining wedding party 25 min later (but there was an additional car so it came back for us). This worked well, DH and I took additional WP pictures.

As far as expense goes, my prereception, plated dinner and bar came to $135 a person (not including cake and champagne). Depending on what you are serving you are going to spend the same amount at either location....so to me the minimum did not effect my decision. I wanted the reception at YC not GF. It is really individual choice, but I do have pictures at all three locations, and the limo was only $336. But a word of caution depending on where your cake is made you may have to pay a moving fee. My cake was made at GF and delivered to YC...that was $115  So make sure you ask about those types of fees.
