What is Body Glide and where could I buy it? I never heard of it before. Is it waterproof? My ds9 get very chaffed from walking around in a wet swimsuit whether it's at Typhoon Lagoon or the beach near home. A friend said to cut the mesh out of his suit and wear regular "tighty-whities" but that still doesn't help. Always within a few hours, he's walking with knees out wide. We've tried baby powder but that's only good once you're dry/getting dressed. Would Body Glide help? :confused3 Thanks! :goodvibes

I just ordered it from drugstore.com but Eastern Mountain Sports by me allegedly has it. I went to the website and entered my address and was given a list of running/sporting good stores that carry it. I ordered through drugstore.com though because I needed other items and got free shipping without the hassle of running around to find it. I haven't used it yet, so I can't help there but it comes in a deodorant type stick and appears gel like enough that it won't come off easily.

What's everyone's favorite brand of spray on sunscreen? I tried some in the stores, but it just seemed to come out in a big glob, just like the squeeze kind so I didn't see the benefit.

The coppertone sport spray in the blue bottle. It sprays quick over the whole body. For the face I use a water baby stick. I have a few brands, one is called water babies, I believe. The other is Hawaiian tropic for babies. It has a high spf and comes in a round or deodorant type stick so its easy to apply to the face without getting a mess on my hands.

Do you have to rub it in? or does it just absorb?
The Avon stuff just absorbs. I like it.

I just spray it right on my face, but with the kids, I spray it on their hands, and they rub it on their faces. It just absorbs after that, you don't have to wash your hands, they aren't sticky.

How much to rent towels?
You can't take one from your resort?

Sorry for responding late, I had to go back to work today. :guilty: It only cost a $1 to rent a towel. You can take one from the resort, but I thought I would be going to Epcot and didn't want to fool with a towel. However, we ended up going back to the hotel.

It looks like some people have replied to your question, but you may want to try the bodyglide. The kind I bought even has SPF 25. I have sensitive skin, which usually stings when I swim in the ocean. My arms were hurting pretty bad at TL, so I tried the body glide to see if it would help. I'm glad I tried because it made a big difference.

I bought my bodyglide from REI, but the website KimberlyC mentioned would probably be more convenient than finding a REI. My bottle doesn't say if it is waterproof or sweatproof, but it stayed on the whole time I was at the park. I hope it works for your son! :beach:

I've tried the BananaBoat sunscreen, Neutrogena, Coopertone regular, and Coopertone blue bottle (sport brand?). You don't have to rub any of those in. I didn't like the bananaboat as well as the others. I like the way the Neutrogena feels, but I like the coconut smell of the Coopertone better. Plus, the Coopertone has one or two more ounces.

KimberlyC and SnoopyDancer,
Thank you so much for your help! :) I'll try both websites and see which is a better deal.

For those talking sunscreen...

Get those "face stick" products!!!! You're kids' eyes will THANK YOU!
Regular sunscreen will always run into their eyes and they'll turn all red and complain all day long... the face sticks don't run and they glide on like chapstick!

I really like the Neutrogena spray-on. It has a nice light feel and works very well (no sunburn!). Plus, it has a "cooling" effect that makes your skin feel nice when it's hot out.

I tried the Coppertone Continuous Sport (blue bottle) last year and hated it! Loved the convenience of a spray, but thought it had the durability of cement!! It was so hard to scrub off, even with a soapy washcloth (I guess it would really stay on well if you were swimming, though, if you can put up with the feel of it). I hated the consistency on my skin. The Neutrogena worked much better for me.

I say, try a couple out and see what you think. Some people love the Cooppertone!

I haven't read all 22 pages but an item that I have't seen is a chip clip.(Or 2 or 3) We always buy a few bags of snacks and the clips are essential.

How about a couple of clothes pins.. they can double as snack holders and to hang anything wet in the bathroom on the pull out clothes line.. :teeth:

I did the research for you, Chanda7 started the discussion and then there were 25 additional posts 6 by dcanoli along with 15 more posts supporting this topic. so that leaves just 4 posts that are neither supporting or not supporting. So what that means is that I should just keep my mouth shut. Also 25 posts is not alot of posts compared to the number of total posts in this thread. Sorry, I must have been having a bad day.

It is a subject that doesn't quite fit the name of the thread, and one that not all posters, especially the males, may find comfortable talking about.

I had to google the product myself, never heard of it!

I'm female, and completely comfortable talking about such things. Yet when on a forum about Disney on my lunch break, I don't care to read about such things while eating, just as I don't care to watch tampon commercials or watch operations on TLC while eating. But that's just me I guess? :rolleyes1

BANDAIDS are #1.

I also pack chapstick with SPF since our lips seem to hurt after a long day in the parks. :Pinkbounc

Hey .. I think you girls might be the right age to have heard of or seen Napolean Dynamite .... Bring me my chapstick, My lips hurt real bad.

:lmao: Personally I couldn't stand much of the movie but this has become a family catch phrase

Leaving tomorrow actually and here are a few things I am packing...
extra ziploc bags
foot powder
solid antipersperant/deodorant
small size hand sanitizer
small pack of wet ones
small folding scissors
moleskin
bandaids/bacitracin/cold medicine for adults and kids
antifungal cream
benadryl for adults and kids
small pack of tissues
sunglasses and hats
continuous spray sunblock and sunblock stick for faces and lips

I also photocopied out of the UG the touring plans I want to follow and minimized them so that all the info is about the size of a large notecard. I then laminated them so that each day I can bring one to the park for us to follow without having to bring out my whole book or rip out pages. On the back I put our ADR info and #'s and other tips that I dont want to forget.

Hey! Where did you get that photo of me to use in your avatar? I didn't give you permission! Ha, ha! (It looks like me, and I live in NJ.)

It might be you after all, because while the whole idea of the photo is "me", I dont have blonde hair or any cleavage to speak of!! LOL!!!

Yep, could be me.
I have way more cleavage than I care to, and my hair is blonde"ish" by design, not birth.
However, I am not often seen bobbing in the water in an innertube.

Too cute!
