Wow, this was not nice

Was just on the phone with CRO to modify a reservation. I was speaking with a female CM. While there was a pause in our conversation, I heard coming from her end a male CM say "We have our first idot of the day". I hope he was not refering to a guest such as me that he was speaking to on the phone, but I am sure it was.

You're right it wasn't nice and he should not have said it. But to play devils advocate for a minute..anyone who works with the public has to have had moments like that.

I understand he has a right to say it, but not within earshot of other guests. He should have been more careful, with telephones around he was obviously going to be heard unknowingly. Heck i work with the public and complain all the time, JUst not within earshot of my customers.

This sooo reminds me of when I worked at Airtran as a Customer Service Rep. We could mute our mouthpice/earphone things so that we could still hear the caller, but they couldn't hear us. We had a couple of incidents where someone thought they'd muted the headset but didn't and the caller heard their comments. The supervisor was of course always requested and one particular supervisor as an apology, if they had a flight booked they would either give a discount or a free business class upgrade for the person. She kept a board of jokes, strange calls, scenarios etc posted on her desk. She's always take a polaroid of the CSR and post is as her "Dumb A** of the week" You had to know her....no one ever got offended because she posted herself quite often for things she had done.

Oh, and if you could see all the eye rolling, arm gestures, and all the under the breath muttering.....you'd probably be offended. I loved the job, and was NEVER rude or disrespectful to a caller, but boy there sure are some people out there who are dumber than a box of rocks.
