in my view, the best ride at IOA (and the best water ride ever). but my question is, is that the only ride at IOA made up?. never knew him from a cartoon or anything

I am working up courage to go on this ride (I am a pathetic chicken when it comes to steep drops). It just looks steeper than other similar rides. Looks awesome though!

Dudley Do-Right was a cartoon segment on the Rocky & Bullwinkle Show that was popular enough that it was spun off into its own show. There was even a movie made about the cartoon a few years ago with Brendan Fraser and Sarah Jessica Parker. Hysterical cartoon... bad movie... :goodvibes

trust me, nothing can go wrong on the ride, yeah....okay. people mess about on it, but wow. everything about it is fantastic!

Oh it’s not about things going wrong… it just looks sooooo steep and I get clammy hands just looking at the video on USF website :rotfl:

awww, come on, once you're on it, it's not so bad at all. hold on to the sides, and it will be fine

Yep, that’s the plan – hold on to the sides! In addition to that, I do a little bit of hyperventilation simultaneously with hand clamming. I also ensure that I close my eyes and scream like a freak. This seems to work for me for all rides higher than 6 feet. :cool1:

Rocky and Bullwinkle was a cartoon from the sixties. Dudley Do Right was a character in that cartoon. In the late sixties, he got his own show.

Very popular when i was a child;) , who could forget Nell & Snidely Whiplash...which is what you nearly get on the ride:rotfl2:

luv it's wicked ride, scares the beans outta me:scared1: wish they'd add lap belts...jik

Here's an interesting piece of trivia that some of you may not know: Paul Frees who is the "Ghost Host" at The Haunted Mansion at Disneyland and WDW was also the voice of Boris Badenov from Rock & Bullwinkle from 1961. ;)

Yeah, it's a great ride.

I could hardly fit in the fron seat though, my legs are so long. I kinda stuffed myself in and had a hard time getting out last time I went :sad2:

They told me not to sit in the front anymore. I shall heed their warning!

Paul Frees also did the voice of Inspector Fenwick in the Dudley Do-Right cartoons. One of my favorite cartoons of all time! And here's another voice connection for you: June Foray, the voice of Rocky the Flying Squirrell and Nell Fenwick (in the Dudley cartoons) provided the voice of the woman in Pirates of the Caribbean whose husband is being dunked in the well ("Don't tell heem, Carlos!)!

Dudley: Have you seen Nell?
Inspector Fenwick: Perhaps she's gone to see her sister.
Dudley: Does she have a sister?
Inspector Fenwick: No, but Nell's a strange girl. :happytv:

i am always having problems getting in and out of thing, if i could, i would change the design

Yeah...I couldn't believe all the voices Paul did and I remember June Foray from some of the Bugs Bunny cartoons...usually playing the witch or the grandma type character. She was also in an episode of Green Acres. Eleanor Audley...the voice of Madame Leota...was a semi-regular cast member of Green Acres. She played Mrs. Douglas...Oliver's mother. Paul also did Toucan Sam from Fruit Loops and the Pillsbury Doughboy for a number of years.

Here's a REAL trivia question for you: Who is a famous voice that is associated with both Universal AND WDW and can be heard daily?

There were three of us in a boat that were over 260lbs...the heaviest one in the front. Our friend Joey was in the middle-he's about 180lbs. and his g/f was about 95lbs. We knew we were in trouble when we went down the first dip and the nose of the boat went under the water.
The final drop was insane. We went under the water, which created a wall of water that washed over the whole boat and actually pushed us backwards. We vowed that we would never do that again....we'd get two more people that was over 260.

a famous voice that can be heard daily?. i have no idea, you gotta tell me. thanks for all the info about the dudley cartoons, didon't even know it was real. always thaught universal made it up

Come on now...I can't give it up that easily. I'll give you a hint. The voice can be heard in the Haunted Mansion and the Universal parking garage in a certain section. ;)

hmmm, trying to think of the universal carparks now. ET, jaws, jurasic park, spider man, the cat in the hat um....ur..... really...think that's it?
