That’s insane & seriously dangerous. Who was ultimately responsible for maintenance???
I was there last week and saw many engines and trucks in use. I’m not sure how widespread this is. Although this may be admin way of saving $$$ on gas, which would totally be par for this admin course.
That’s what I thought. Just disgustingAt this point, why would it be anybody but Disney?
Maybe the FL legislature knew more than we thought they knew and maybe there was more to it all than just politics.
If you hire a contractor because you know nothing about servicing a fire engine, that contractor says it’s good to go and has all the documents proving the work they did. Is it still your fault for trusting a contractor? At this point, why would it be anybody but Disney?

I’m just playing devils advocate because I don’t know how their PMs are set up. But if it is setup that way it’s tough to blame Disney. I mean surely they have to fix it and if they don’t that’s 100% on Disney.
The gist is that poor maintenance is resulting in equipment breaking down and is impacting the fire company's ability to respond to emergencies in a timely manner.Sorry guys, but we can't see the link over here in the UK. I've picked up the gist but can someone just give me a quick summary of what the article says
I have no idea how it actually is set up, but I would venture that Reedy Creek is set up to have their own maintenance department that fixes things, not outside contractors as they function like their own little government.
So, in the end, it would be on them to ensure that things are in working order, just like Orange County (and every other government agency who oversees emergency services) is for it.
Ummm... and that would mean: Disney.
Funny sidebar, or at least I find it amusing. I thought for sure when I posted this that the Disney apologists would be upon themselves finding no possible out for blaming Disney, and yet here we are. I guess I hadn't come up with all the possible excuses after all. LOL
Wow. When a guest dies as a result of this, only then will something actually be done. This is embarrassing, but at this point nothing surprises me anymore when it comes to Disney and saving money.
Thankfully the Firefighters Union spoke out about this, sometimes you have to go over your boss's head to get things done. And some pen pusher will run the numbers and see if they still worked out, despite the lawsuit/payoff. Bet me.
