The humidity does play a factor for those who aren't used to it. I never include it because it gets hand in hand where we live, but we do find the heat harder to take in California because we feel like we may crack from the lack of humidity.
Again, I think it depends on where you are from. We love June because of the lower heat and humidity, but enjoy the lack of high summer crowds in middle to late August.
