WOW - passports took 8 days

I went down to the passport office last Monday (the 16th) with two renewals and two brand new passport applications (kids).

They just came 10 minutes ago by xpresspost.

That is an 8 day turnaround - and no - I didn't pay for the rush service or anything.

Wow - they are really picking up the pace, huh?

What passport office did you go to? I have to renew ours in the next few months.

Mine came in 6 days from the kitchener passport office back in May. I don't know why anyone would pay for the expedited service.

Kitchener has the reputation for being the fastest in Ontario, with London a close second.

We have to renew ours before we leave for Italy Sep 20 as they expire December so not 6 months expiration left! Ticks me that I lose the 3 months I paid for so figured I would renew late Aug early Sept.

I got mine in less than 2 week in April from the Mississauga office. And it was around the Easter weekend.

I went to the London office 2 weeks ago to get our sons renewed and to get our 1 year old hers and I got there at 12:30 to send it in and we had them in the mail on that Thursday the same week. The lady I spoke with said there is still a backlog for those that mail them in thinking it is a quicker solution but now it is actually quicker to go to the passport office.

I mailed my app from Burlington, ON using Expresspost on the Thursday before Victoria Day and had it back in 9 business days including the holiday!

I had mine and dd's in 3 bus days - took apps in on Friday and had them by Wed. That was the Hamilton office.

Same here, 3 days. Went on a Tuesday morning, got them in the mail on Friday.

All it takes is making sure everything is right and ready when you put in your applications, no problems means no delays!
